Hometown Cooking at its best! Choice of Breakfast/Dinner all day. Fresh Homemade Soups, Biscuits and Potatoes. The Strawberry Shortcake is a must have served on a warm biscuit topped with whipped cream!

Second time here. Both times were for breakfast. Both times, the food was tasty but greasy.
Service was not great. We saw our server once when she took our order. Food took quite some time to come out of the kitchen.
All things considered, we probably won't return.

Lamplighter lighter choice menu is a great deal!!! My favorite is their bone in wings and fries for less than $6.00

My husband enjoyed the special of the day (Southern Fried Steak). I made the mistake of ordering the French Dip. The “au jus” was actually very good. Not greasy nor salty. But the sandwich looked almost like vending machine fare. The waitress was very pleasant.

Atmosphere was nice and the restroom entry area was also attractive, but the restroom fixtures were very old and beat up.

The two young girls were pleasant but ripped up jeans and skin tight short shorts are NOT appropriate server attire in that atmosphere. The Mac and cheese looked and tasted like cheap boxed, no attempt was made here. No attempt made to make instant Mashed potatoes better. The fish, reminded me of 2 pieces of Gordon's fish straight out of the grocery freezer section. They were a little grease laden, maybe the fryer want hot enough? Typically, when someone serves hamburger steak it looks a little different than simply a hamburger patty slapped on a grill with a plate covered with what tasted like cheap gravy from a can or jar. Canned gravy can be spruced up with very little effort. I get that small-town lower income area kind of dictates what is served. But one can at least make an attempt to dress up ordinary items and not make it so obvious that the cheapest product is being used it costs pennies to do this.

my brother and my kids went to breakfast here my youngest knocked a coffee over and the waitress that was right next to them who had rags didn't offer to help which I know she's not responsible to take care of it but it was the lack of acknowledgement on her part and every one else at this restaurant is extremely disappointing they were given single napkins no replacement Styrofoam cups instead of the red cups along with everyone else in the restaurant I can't help but feel it was intentional on how they were treated the pancake tasted like literal soap and was charge for milk when Noone at the table ordered milk not sure if it was because my family is Hispanic or you guys just don't like outsiders but we definitely won't be going back and will let those we know of ethnic backgrounds not to go here!

Lamplighter is a good stop along the Pere- Marquette Rail Trail in Evart MI. Just one block west of the City Hall/Depot on the trail, then two blocks north on Oak St. Adequate food and excellent service. I have stopped and refueled more than once while bicycling.

This was a great find for our trip to Mackinaw. I had the best Farmers omelet I've ever had. You could taste that it was made from stratch. The service was super friendly. If I'm in the area again, I would definitely stop here again.
