Basil Indian Bistro

Really loved this place. It is a bit different as it really feels like Indian restaurant and not a south Indian restaurant. There are some unique servings like Sizzlers which you cannot find in any other restaurants around the Farmington Hills, Novi, Troy area. I would recommend trying their Paneer Rajwadi Sizzler.
The place feels upscale with ample and comfortable seating and quiet ambience.

If you want to spend your entire evening waiting for your food and serving yourself water out of a Brita filter this is the place to go!

They didn’t have even have cloth napkins. All in all, it’s probably a good place to get catering from, but in Farmington Hills there’s no shortage of good Indian food so I would just avoid this place.

Basil Indian Bistro is truly a hidden gem! The beauty of the restaurant made our dining experience superb! The owner and the staff were so welcoming and kind and made sure everything was perfect. Everything we ate was so delicious and presented beautifully! We will definitely be back!

We absolutely loved our experience at Basil Indian Bistro! The food was incredibly tasty and so filling—every bite was packed with flavor. The cocktails were just as impressive, especially with their fun and delicious sugar rims. The space itself is stunning—beautifully curated and full of light. But what truly made our visit unforgettable was the warmth and kindness of the staff. Hema, the owner, is the sweetest and most thoughtful hostess you could imagine. She made us feel so welcome, and we’re beyond excited to be having our wedding rehearsal dinner here this summer! Highly recommend!

Some of the best Indian food I’ve had in my life. And I used to live in New York. It’s fresh and complex and rich in flavor. Chicken Chergazi, saag paneer, dosas, samosas all good

Beautiful place, but was not a pleasant experience. There were only four patrons in the restaurant and it took over a half hour to get our food, that came out at different times. My dish was essentially a bowl of gravy. I ordered it spicy and it was mild. Didn’t get our water refilled and no one checked on us, despite again, four patrons in total. Will not deviate from the 13 and Orchard Lake corridor again for good Indian food. This meal was rough.

Great ambience for a great experience. The staff was very friendly. The food we ordered did not taste exactly like what we thought it would be or have had in the past. So, you might have a bit of a surprise but they have some nice innovation going on to present the food in a little elevated manner. For someone trying indian food for the first time or someone who hasn't had a lot of indian food, you would definitely like this place. The food was not spicy at all so that's a plus if you're not into spicy food.

We had an event at their banquet hall and they were great to work with! Food was excellent and they did an amazing job with the decorations! Staff was very courteous and accommodating! Service could have slightly more efficient.

I got a chicken Tikka with rice to go and it was delicious. I minus one star for the price. I paid $25 for the chicken and rice with a couple of dollars for a tip. The hostess asked me if I wanted some bread, it would of been $30 with bread if I would of accepted it. I noticed some lunch specials maybe I will look out for those next time. Overall the food was delicious.

Absolutely loved our experience at Basil Indian Bistro! The food was bursting with authentic flavors, and every dish was cooked to perfection. The Pahadi paneer and biryani were incredible, and the service was friendly and attentive. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot for both casual and special dinners. Highly recommend if you’re craving delicious Indian food. Will definitely be back! We were a group of 13 people and Gia and her team made the experience amazing!!
