Cozy mom & pop shop and loved by locals. The biscuits are so good that I only get biscuits and gravy every time I go (the pancakes look good though). I recommend trying a small squeeze of yellow mustard on your gravy (it is a West Virginia thing). The pies are very good as well. Expect a short wait and don't forget to bring cash (only).Parking: Adequate parking for the size of the establishment.
So my bucket list of restaurants down river, I had to say this was outstanding. The food here is incredible. The staff is really super nice. I love the ambience of feeling like you're old store and you're at home with home cooking. I enjoyed the southern omelette with smothered and sausage gravy that's a 10 out of 10. I also enjoyed the French toast that's a 10 out of 10 I also enjoyed the biscuits with Gravy thats 10 of 10 Told my whole entire experience coming to Kate's Kitchen is fantastic. I recommend to anybody who is in flat rock and looking for a great place to have breakfast but the key is it's cash only no credit card make sure you bring cash . Conn only open for breakfast and lunch . so the only open four days a week From morning to 2 pm so the days are Thursday Friday, Saturday and Sunday closed Monday Tuesday Wednesday. If I'm wrong, please correct me. I feel that the rich history of kate's kitchen goes long distance with the community of flat rock. So if you're really want something like homemade and home cooked meal go here.

The food here is impeccable. All food here is made from scratch even the bacon smell and taste super fresh, like they just butchered it. Kate's Kitchen only takes Cash/Personal Checks, and only opened from Thursday - Sunday. Kate is known for their made from scratch homemade pies/cakes.

The best deep fried mushrooms you'll find anywhere. Great menu, friendly staff; add the entertainment with wonderful views of the river and you've got a winner!

Mediocre waitress staff and bad management. Cockroaches in the back. Unsanitary. Probaly on the verge of being shut down for health code violations. But still serves up some great food. Although nowhere near as good as it used to be. Hopefully they get a new location with more space and close this dump soon.
Had the biscuits and gravy was awesome, sister had the French toast, awesome, hubby had the belt with cheese, awesome!! Just really great food!! they only take cash and I didn't have enough so had to go the atm on the corner, took food home and was still hot!! I did get sticker shock, but as it is all homemade and so good, worth the price to us!!
