Great little Cuban place. We stopped on a whim and are very glad we did. We will be going back, despite it being an hour away. The Cubano sandwich was great. The Café con Leche was hot and tasted just right. The Tres Leche cake was a great way to end the meal.

The best Cuban food I've had rivaling some great restaurants in Miami. The fried pork chunks dinner was wonderful, the Chorizo Crochets were great, and my wife loved her Cuban sandwich as well, taking half of it home. Everyone was friendly, quick, and we will absolutely be back.

This is literally the best Cuban food I've ever had. The Cuban sandwich is amazing. It's well spiced, the meat is beyond tender, and the ingredients are all fresh. Anyone complaining on here are literally insane or have no idea what Cuban food is. This has got to be one of the best restaurants in Flint, hands down!

This was going to be a great review, but unfortunately last night changed that I had went a couple mornings in a row and I had ordered items that were fresh and delicious. I cannot make it in the morning so I went in the evening this time I placed my order over the phone and there was only one person there and they were a Spanish-speaking employee. I don’t speak Spanish. It is a little odd that in a predominantly English speaking city that there was only a Spanish-speaking employee and I was told the day before that I could call and place my order. So I did the best I could and I got my order placed.
Upon arriving to get my food, I paid and I did as I normally do it and I took my food home as I begin eating the food. I realize there is a nasty taste like they did not cook the food fresh, but instead that it had been sitting there all day, this was around 5:20 to 5:30 PM
So unfortunately, they close at 6 PM so I was planning to stop by on my way to handle my business this morning and unfortunately, unfortunately the same employ was present so I was trying to express my dissatisfaction and want a refund but they could not help me they said they are not the owner so they could not help. With that being said, she told me to come back at a later time, but she could not specify a time through the translator because she said they could come or they could not come so now unfortunately I left with no resolve.
I will try to call back, but this does not look good for consistency in a business
Pros: Convenient location, unique flavors and recipes, only local Cuban restaurant, family owned and from Cuba, diverse selection of dishes, drive through/takeout/dine in available, friendly service, opened recently, good prices for such cultural food, open 6am-6pm, offers Cuban coffee, menu includes rare desserts, lunches, and dinner that you won't find anywhere else. Recommend coming here for the unique desserts.
Cons: limited English so ordering is a bit of a challenge sometimes depending on who you get, drive through only supports two or three vehicles before blocking parking entrance. Drive through only holds 3~ cars before being held up on a main road. Maybe try to reverse the drive through so the entrance is on the other side.
I was one of their first customers, have ordered most of their dishes. Before I write any directly negative review, love your unique desserts and staff, but I recommend someone examine the pork dish for improvement. Would love to see this restaurant expand and improve, we need more cultural restaurants in the city.
Update (Nov 2024):
Cons - when they first opened they had great customer service but now customer service is non existent. Two employees here don't speak English so ordering was very challenging, they did not know their own dishes, no other customer currently here but all the tables are dirty with garbage, outside decorations are damaged, counter tile has multiple missing pieces, cuban pizza was not cut, had to find the least dirtiest table to use. Ordered food but never served drinks. Had to remind them multiple times that I ordered water and a cuban espresso. Employees kept leaving the front counter for long periods of time. No boxes for food besides pizza box, had to throw dishes either in a pizza box mixing with the pizza or directly in a grocery bag. They serve hot soup in thin plastic containers which I would think they are not designed for hot foods.
Pros - food is tasty enough and is the only Cuban place around, espresso is delicious.
The food is unique enough to come back but between bad cleanliness, poor service, limited communication, and occasional food poisoning it will be awhile before I try this place again. I really do wish this place succeeds because it is the only Cuban option around, so hopefully they improve these issues.

I used to come here a few times a week. When it's good, it's REALLY good. Unfortunately this place has gone way down hill. I ordered online. Arrived. As soon as I walk in I'm greeted with a dirty looking glare from some dude who then walks into the back. I assume he's getting someone for me so I wait. Another 8 minutes of him walking back and forth giving me dirty looks and not being helped at all as I watch my food getting cold on the counter, I leave. I pull up to the drive-thru and they bring me my food immediately. Go figure. The empanada was obviously old and basically just a fried wonton with nothing in it. The Cuban was skimpy, no pork on it at all, beef was dry, no condiments, no cheese. So I basically paid $13 for an empty fried wonton and a plain bread with some old roast beef on it. What an absolute joke. Furthermore, I just read the owners reply to one of their negative reviews and they ought to be ashamed of themselves trying to berate a customer for giving their food more than one chance. I won't be back. This place can kick rocks.

I'm biased when it comes to Latin food. I'm from Brooklyn, NY and I'm Puerto Rican. This place right here is not Cuban food. I have to be honest because I'm already upset living in Michigan and all they think is that Latin food is Mexican. So when places like this pop up, people will never know what real Cuban, Puerto Rican, Dominican, Spanish, etc., food is really supposed to be like. You can taste the old oil they cook their pastries and empanadas in. The black beans and rice was flavorless. The ox tail was definitely not representing any latin flavor. The only thing that was good was the soursop juice. It's really sad and it breaks my heart to give such a review, cuz they have the concept, but lack very much in flavor and authenticity. Please do not judge, what should be the deliciousness of authentic Cuban food, at this place because they're far from it! And they have the audacity to be expensive. SMH!

I'll give it a 2. Had a couple good sandwiches but it not consistent. I think it depends on who's working.

Drove an hour - called to see if they will be open at 5PM. Person on phone sounded miserable, showed up at 5:05pm.. closed.. hours say 6-6:00pm

No one came up when I got there. No one speaks English, the bathroom was dirty and had no paper towels or toilet paper.
The Cuban's had no mustard and no pickles...bread was just bread not toasted or smashed down. No flavor in the meat or cheese.
Tostones were super hard and super thin and had no flavor as well.
So excited for a cuban spot near me. But nope.

The current offer is not up to par
Cuban sandwich was delicious. The pork was super tender and flavorful. Not a ton of mustard or pickle but it didn’t need it. Nice portion for price too - almost couldn’t finish the entire thing on an empty stomach!
