Ordered the seafood platter...the fries were terrible. It almost seemed like they were leftover from someone else's plate. The fish and shrimp were very blah. Tasted like they haven't changed the oil in a long time. Will not ever go there again

Ordered two AUC fish dinners. The fish was just ok. Cod was very greasy. The baked potato was definitely a leftover from another day. It arrived cold and dried out. Had waitress take it back and was given the same potato heated up. Could only eat the top half as the bottom was burned and very dry. The French fries on the other order seemed reheated too. Not crispy and very dried out. Not worth the $14.95 per meal. Waitress did her job but didn’t engage in a welcoming manner. Won’t be back. It’s a shame… used to be the best place in town for many years.

We really like this cool place. The onion rings are the best I've had. Tuna melt was delicious as was the jalapeno burger. Loved the popcorn 'appetizer ' too! I'd recommend this place to everyone!

I discovered Cheap Charlies last April 2024. I was driving to visit family that lives in Lakeport. I was visiting from Florida Wanting to try something outside of chain restaurants we stopped in. I must say the staff was excellent. The atmosphere was good and the food was amazing! I was a little concerned with so many items on the menu about how the food would come out. You know the saying, “jack of all trades master of none” well they delivered at being a master at whatever I ordered. I have to give a big shout out to the fried pickles. I’ve never ordered them before. They were delicious! I have ordered fried pickles at restaurants since then, and have been extremely disappointed because they do not live up to Cheap Charlies standards of taste and quality! There is nothing cheap about Cheap Charlies food! I give it 10 stars out of five stars!

As it says in the title, the prices on the menu were not expensive! Food was good, and service was to. Nothing outstanding, but nothing was disappointing either.
One thing I'll say is that their menu is huge! I believe it was six full pages of text.
We'll be glad to come again and try something new next time!

Always wanted to try this restaurant. Despite the ‘Cheap Charlie’ name, this was well done. We sat in back room, which reduced the noise level considerably! Great fish and chip dinner (with malt vinegar too), and nice battered shrimp. Would definitely stop here again!

This is a go-to for dining as it marks the halfway point between my home in Livonia and our weekend getaway in Port Austin. We love the wide selection available, all at reasonable prices and attractively prepared.
I ordered a Medium done steak through door dash and they gave me a well done steak I can barely chew. Everything else was fine but the main part of my meal I probably won't be able to finish.
