Unsure why I see so many complaints about this place. I'm glad I got to see for myself that the place is great! They have everything you need and have the same amenities anywhere else you go such as resorts & waterparks. We had plenty to do for hours on end, days in a row.
We tried the new rock wall this time around, and Esther did a phenomenal job of making it so memorable!! The new water park was phenomenal as well đ Hands down our favorite family vacation destination
The advertisement for michigans biggest waterpark is hyped WAY TOO MUCH. First off the Rates said they were $75 per day flat fee when you check online however when we got there they were bumped up to $80 (for reference the waterpark opened at 10am and we got there at 12:30pm on a weekday! The park wasnât busy so not sure why prices were bumped), not a huge bump but still a bump.. My child is 41.5inches tall. When you first walk into the waterpark there is a greeter who gives you bands and measures the height of your kids and also checks all your bags. The bands are color coded based on what slides they can ride. This is very pointless considering they measure your kids before they go down EVERY SINGEL SLIDE EVERY SINGLE TIME! The inconsistency with the height was very annoying and disappointing for my family. One employee gives the pass to go on the slides then 30 minutes later on the same slides a different employee is turning my child away saying they canât go down them. We had to get managers involved and this was such a huge issues and happened so often that we just stopped going down the slides because it was such a hassle and my child was so upset because they felt like they were doing something wrong everytime when other children the same height were allowed to go down right before them. The slides are not thrill slides and this place is only a few months old and the slides have water scum and rusty residue on them and some of it comes off on your suits when you go down. The wave pool was fun but not as deep as you would expect a wave pool to be and there were hair clumps everywhere in it which was gross. The bathrooms were not clean at all pee and fecal matter all over toilet seats and overflown toilet and with it being a waterpark and walking barefoot it was so disgusting and gross. Especially because you canât wear water shoes if your riding the slides, so it makes sense to not wear water shoes at all because you come to the waterpark for the slides.. I myself during our 2.5 hour visit pulled 3 different kids from the water because they were shouting âhelpâ as life guards were just casually watching!?This was definitely shocking and confusing to me considering how crazy insanely strict they are for the height of the children and water shoes but not strict for children who are drowning and struggling in the water?!? One of the life guards that was patrolling the lazy river literally pointed at my husband and said âgrab herâ to some random little girl who was struggling in the water. My husband could not hear him as he was further away than the life guard himself was to the girl, and my husband was also with our child. I ended up grabbing her and took her to the stairs.. that whole issue would have been solved a thousand times quicker if the life guard would have jumped in and grabbed her himself instead of relying on and directing us to grab her.. thatâs not our jobâŠ.. The inside bar, for adults obviously will be well loved if you drink alcohol however in my honest opinion I was not a fan of stepping in the spilled alcohol around the activity pool as we were watching our child do the lily pads.. maybe enforcing a designated area for the alcohol to stay instead of it being allowed all over the waterpark. Alcohol and kids donât mix and the majority of a waterpark is mostly young kids who cannot legally drink but youâre allowing it to be around them and spilled all over in kids areas? Thatâs interesting to me. They also offer food inside the waterpark which is a perk but they also need to be A LOT better at cleaning. The soggy pizza that was water logged on the steps going up to the slides was gross and also a slip hazard.. The activity pool is small, the lazy river has a very strong current that my family enjoyed however itâs pretty small. The wave pool is fun but very slippery floor and also sharp floor in many places. My husband sliced his foot on a sharp area of the floor and was bleeding. The water is a bit shallow in my opinion for the toddler area. My child went down all of them and smashed into the floor e
We enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Bavarian Inn! The room was super clean when we arrived. The housekeeping staff was amazing at checking in to see what we needed. The only concern we had with our room was that the bathtub backed up, which we notified the front desk and were told it would be fixed in a few hours, but it was still backed up the next day when we showered (which happened to be the day we left). Some rooms have microwaves and others do not but there are microwaves on the floors for public use. The kids play area and arcade were great. Lots of options for the whole family. The water park and pools were well staffed with lifeguards. Kids are required to wear life jackets and wear bracelets determining which rides they are tall enough for. Lifeguards rotated frequently and overall it felt very safe and well attended. The whole staff was excellent as employees greeted us in hallways and always seemed happy to assist. Great experience; we will definitely be back!
We made a detour to visit Frankenmuth, Michigan because I wanted to see a German community and to try their food. After leaving, I realized I wasn't in the downtown area but at the Bavarian Inn Zehnder. (Google maps gave directions to this inn although I input downtown Frankenmuth, MI.)
As I was finding a parking space, numerous tour buses pulled up and dropped passengers off. I can see why my wait time was twenty minutes (shortest wait time at any of the restaurants). While waiting, I walked around the building and realized that that all the restaurants - different décor - had almost identical menus but prices seem to vary for the same dishes (maybe quantity is different). The gift store was stuffed with all kinds of souvenir items.
Although I was seated in Lorelei Lounge, I was given a Oma's menu. As I looked around the room and by the bar, there was a doorway leading to Oma restaurant.
This Inn is known for its fried chicken. The chicken was fried crispy and well seasoned but the insides were not moist nor tender. For its notoriety, it did not meet my expectations. The pork schnitzel was so so - not as good as other German restaurants I tried. The Franconian Combination Plate of sausage and chicken was nothing special. I thought it needed more flavoring and not so overcooked. Food presentation was poor. If it was better, I might have finished my plate.
The Apfel Strudel could use more filling. You are eating more crust than the apfel. The New York Style Cheesecake tastes like it was frozen. It's drizzle tastes like any strawberry sauce. Neither dessert was impressive.

Love the atmosphere. Food was great. Service was attentive and right on the spot. We had the schnitzel, pretzel bites, and chicken caesar salad. All were priced well and delicious. There was live music outside with a large biergarten. Lots of people just enjoying themselves! Great time. Will probably eat here for dinner each night next time. Very convenient. That was the best caesar dressing I think weâve ever had.

The service was wonderful however the food was mediocre. The potato dumplings were great, the chicken Alfredo was bland and the chicken was dry. For $22, you got a handful of pasta with minimal sauce and thats kind of being generous. The barbecue burger was drenched in grease, the buns were soggy and practically baby food. Overall not a place that I would like to return to.

Very unaccommodating slides are not half as good as they are in other states mostly built for smaller kids too many people!
We just returned from Bavarian Inn and had a fantastic time! I was really impressed with Bavarian Blast (we loved the indoor/outdoor hot tub) and the staff were fantastic! I didnât get the name of the person at the front desk who checked us in, but she was wonderful, as was Roger in the arcade area who helped out when a toy got stuck in the crane game. He was so kind and helpful to us and our boys. Thanks so much for a true Bavarian blast! We will be back!
Celebrated my daughterâs second birthday and I canât say enough good things about our experience. We had sooo much fun. The water park was a blast! We did not want to leave. The premium drinks were so good. The indoor/outdoor hot tub was amazing. So relaxing. The hotel was so clean. I have never stayed in a hotel as clean as this one ever! The customer service was phenomenal. Everyone was so nice, helpful, and accommodating. They came to my room got my daughterâs birthday cake, stored it in their cooler over night for me and delivered it the next day when I called. Not only did they store it for me but they picked it up and dropped it off. They truly make you feel like family. Iâve never felt as comfortable staying at a hotel/resort as I did here. Thank you so much! We canât wait to visit again.

Spent there one Sunday night with my wife for a couple of drinks and pretzel appetizers. The appetizers were ok. The drinks were good. What made the night fantastic was Emily's service. She was quick and very hospitable. Made us feel welcome. Also, there was live entertainment. On Sunday night? This really made the evening special. We will definitely be back when we visit Frankenmuth again!

Wait time at desk always takes forever! I recommend getting a service that texts you when your room is ready like other hotels itâs so much more convienent for guests than continuing to check back! I pray this is a twmppeary thing butâŠ.The next day you cannot get into the waterpark until NOON! But have to be checked out at 11. Every other hotel or waterpark Iâve ever been to you can get in at 9. The only reason I can find for this is a money grab. They want you to stay and do other things, or leave, or pay extra for late check out. Either way you should be accommodating and allowing your guests full access to things they pay for. Itâs unfortunate but Iâll go elsewhere next time if it doesnât change when you can access the waterpark next time otherwise you really only get 5 hours of included waterpark time with your stay. We did enjoy our time there of course itâs a nice waterpark but weâve been to a lot of waterparks if youâre looking to be different and cool be that for your attractions. Unfortunetly Iâll just always remember now that I couldnât get in first thing the next morning like other water parks and I am still super hung up on that lol
In case anyone was wondering bout the brand new Bavarian Blast Water Park in Frankenmuth... My son had the honor of being part of the pre-opening "crew" and spent 2 days testing it out and highly recommends đ It's pretty awesome for adults too!!! Swim-up bar and swim-outdoor hot tub...lazy river. And if you like water slides you will not be disappointed!!! It's $$$$ but you will have a BLAST!!! General Idea of Pricing... $75 one day pass $150+ w/Cabana Rental $20 Cheese Pizza $10 Kid Meals $16 8oz Cocktails Kid Safety bonuses....a ton of lifeguards...only one entrance and exit and everything is wide open. ***A reminder to parents of young girls...we never know who is watching and video taping them. I know these bathing suits look cute and adorable but we need to adjust to the times and protect them better so I ask you all to consider swim shorts and shirts instead of bikinis and revealing one-pieces. And REMEMBER this is a FAMILY TOWN and Water Park not a "Water Bar" or "Party Destination" so please drink and dress extra responsibly and refrain from driving intoxicated and being distracted by your phones as there are lots of pedestrians walking through the town throughout the days and nights.
We had a very bad experience here. The receptionist when I was trying to check in was so rude. When he told me the total payment for the room I said I thought itâs been fully paid. He said No itâs not so I said Iâll just check my credit card to make sure it wasnât charged. He then rudely threw the paper where he wrote our room number and turned his back at me mumbling. Upon checking that I wasnât charged yet for our room, we just canceled our reservation then looked for a different hotel. I didnât care about paying for the cancellation fee because his rudeness got into us. People shouldnât act that rudely at all.
Tomahawk was awesome!! Danielle was a great server and even sold us the Big Bottle!!
