We stopped at Oma’s Restaurant, located inside the Bavarian Inn Lodge. Overall, it was an alright experience. The house root beer was surprisingly tasty with a caramel-like flavour. I ordered the Steak and Eggs; decent overall, but the steak was really fatty. The standout for me was definitely the Potato Cheese Dumplings… absolutely incredible. My vegetarian wife ordered the Farmer’s Breakfast and asked for the meat to be placed on a separate plate. Unfortunately, that wasn’t accommodated, so she ended up with bacon and sausage grease all over her eggs, which really put a damper on her meal. Service was just okay. Our server was friendly, but my water sat empty for way too long, which shouldn’t happen at a restaurant of this size. Overall, not a bad meal, but there are definitely better spots in the area.
Food was gross and overpriced. Waitress was friendly. Breakfast buffet was advertised but upon arrival wasn’t available. $3.50 for a 4oz glass of apple juice, cinnamon roll was just 2 slices of cinnamon bread and only 1 slice had frosting, my biscuits and gravy came out cold, sausage had the most disgusting fatty texture and was sweet. Coffee was the same stuff you get in the lobby for free. Just not good at all. We spent $75 left hungry and felt cheated.
Here’s a cheerful and glowing review you can use or post: --- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Had a fantastic experience at Oma’s Restaurant! I ordered the corned beef on rye and let me tell you—this sandwich was pure perfection. Tender, flavorful, and piled high just the way it should be. The egg rolls were another pleasant surprise—crispy, hot, and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, and I was seated right away with no wait at all. It wasn’t crowded, which made it the perfect spot to enjoy a peaceful meal. Friendly service, great food, and a cozy vibe—Oma’s is definitely a hidden gem worth visiting again and again. 👌🥪✨ -
We were very disappointed in the 2 meals we had at Oma’s restaurant. Dinner on our first night was disappointing. We each ordered a bowl of soup and a salad. Soup “ bowl” was no bigger than a cup. The “soup” was all noodles with barely any broth. The salads were wilted and lackluster. There was a choice of 2 dressings - ranch and Italian. No Caesar dressing on a Caesar salad!! Best part of the meal was the warm breadsticks. We do not recommend Oma’s for dinner. Breakfast was not much better although our server was excellent.
The waitress was terrible. Did not know the menu. Only filled iced tea at first serving. Walked by empty glass several times as I was seated near the kitchen. Food was not good. Had potato pancakes and they had a bad taste I cannot describe It was clean .
Disappointed! We expected a German style atmosphere and instead got a person singing country-western, etc. More importantly, the food was just okay, and the service was slow although there weren't many people there.
We visited 9/20/25 with a 3 year old and an almost 2 year old. After being seated, we waited 20 minutes until I finally got up, went to the kitchen, and asked if we could get some service. We had not been acknowledged, given water, or anything. Service finally came, but our meal took another 20 minutes to arrive. It was meh. My husband's Ceasar salad had brown lettuce and the dressing was not tasty. I ordered a falafel with veggies on the side; my falafel was served to me with French fries. I mentioned the mistake to the waitress, and she mumbled something about getting them out to me. I never did see those veggies. The macaroni and cheese we ordered for the kids with their meals was like a dry, boxed variety. We live in the area and visit Frankenmuth frequently. We will never go back to this restaurant. The food was not any good, and the service was the worst we've had in a very long time.
Friday morning, not busy. No buffet, only says when available. Well, when is it available? Ordered regular pancakes with crispy bacon . 4 pieces of bacon cooked very nice, pancakes good. Wife had German potato pancakes, scrambled eggs. Both good, good serving of eggs. Coffee was delicious, I like they left a pot on table.
We only had breakfast here and it was average. It’s hard to mess up eggs and bacon. We skipped the buffet. Service as good.
If you seek authentic German home cooked food, you should keep driving. If you are looking for something super bland right off the ol food service truck, she’s your dream! Tried pork schnitzel (really thick and pink inside), fried chicken breast (meh), chicken noodle soup (tasted like it was made with water instead of any sort of flavorful stock or broth), Rueben egg rolls (these win for most bland thing on the table). Add slow service and iced tea without ice to really round out the fun. Maybe in her heyday the place crushed it, but those days are over. Hard pass.

While this was a choice by default, breakfast was good - probably a bit overpriced but the only actual breakfast we could find. Service was (as was the case with sister restaurant at previous night's dinner slow (but better by comparison). We all ordered from menu, but the buffet looked to be loaded with multiple choices (as the price would warrant). I tried a specialty French Toast - good, but not something I go back for. Overall, I think it compares very favorably with the original Bavarian Inn's main dining room.
We had such a delicious buffet breakfast. Love the decor and German costumes. The stolen bread is my favorite. Everything was yummy. $65 for 3 people.
I wish I could give this place a “0”! $50 lunch for two with no drinks for very poor quality and very poor service. Will never return.
Nothing special for the price, not a big selections the help yourself bar was not exciting or memorable either hoping for more.
The breakfast was very good. I especially enjoyed the biscuit and gravy. The service was even nicer. And the ambiance was spot on. I felt like I was in Europe.
