Always a great time with family!
I love Frankenmuth & Zehnders, my German family has been coming since I was a young child (age 66 now) but I want to know why the “hot Chicken Sandwich” has been altered to such a “Small” sandwich? I mean terribly changed! We always loved the hot chicken sandwich the way it was, on larger bread with gravy with giblets and mashed potatoes, but the last time I was there recently I was so disappointed by what I got. I know times are tough but I think we pay enough as it is for this sandwich. Please go back to the way it was, sometimes cutting back doesn’t benefit you, it makes you appear cheap
Have you ever eaten chicken off a public restroom floor!? If so you have had better tasting food. Dont waste your money please!!!! I wish I had the $ to put up billboards to warn people of the scam this place is running!!!! They are a prime example of advertising to scam tourists! I have been to over 15 countries and 47 states and this is not only the worst meal ever but also the biggest scam ive ever fallen for! Save your money!
I took the whole family there today (15 of us) and I was extremely disappointed in the buffet. All of the food was bland and soft.. The noodles were limp and the mashed potatoes were runny, the chicken was about same as Kentucky Fried Chicken. The prime rib was so chewy it was hard to cut and eat. I think it was unanimous that for the price you are overrated and we will find a new family gathering.
My daughter & I came in for dinner Thursday, this was my first time there in 20 years. Our waitress was Alisa...she was amazing & so friendly. We enjoyed chatting with her. Please tell her Debi & Tammy really appreciated everything & we thank her very much! The food was outstanding!
This is our second time in two years going. For some reason I felt I enjoyed it more last time we went. Nothing has changed, and maybe that’s the issue. We are not a picky family, but we got two kids meals then Meal #1: a brat, one side of Mac and cheese, Meal #2: meatloaf and 1 side of mashed potatoes. Then a chicken thing they are famous for to share. This came to 79 dollars. The food tasted like a nursing home and somehow the mashed potatoes had the flavor of what an antique shop smells like. We left 50% and left.
Observations: many patrons were very confused by the setup and caused many backups to take much longer than the process needed to be. I could overhear them talking about the price at the table next to us saying they will not go back.
We will not go back. Love the Zehnders spirit, but this was not our thing.

The only place I eat in frankenmuth
If you are in a rush, most of the menu upstairs is available downstairs, across from the gift shop, cafeteria style. It's well worth the short drive off the highway.

I’m a former local who tries to eat here once every time I visit home, and in the last year or so both the food selection and the service have really declined. The staff seems inconvenienced by customers. I watched them argue condescendingly with customers in front of me who were just trying to clarify a misunderstanding. We waited 20 minutes for my kids’ chicken tenders and when they finally came they were so burnt as to be inedible. Hope they can get the quality and service back to the way it used to be.

I got mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, noodles and butter, green beans, and biscuit with a small side salad. The food was all cold and I was given one spoonful of each, and the total bill was $30. Who pays $30 for sides when I could’ve gotten a chicken dinner for $18.95?? This place is Highway robbery and the food is not even good. Don’t waste your time or money just run down to McDonald’s. It’s better.

had much better fried chicken on aircraft carrier in navy, worst fried chicken I have had, usually love the crispy skin, theirs tasted like raw flower with no seasoning and way overpriced. building was beautiful and service was very good though.
Had wonderful service from Joyce and Kim in the bakery last week. Thank you for your friendliness and great customer service.
Went to zenders to eat dinner with my kids for my son's birthday. First off they have changed the birthday system , said I needed a separate card for my adult handicapped son, I've been going there for his and all our birthdays for the last 35 years. I even had my wedding rehearsal dinner there. Quite disappointed with food , and the birthday club changes. . Definitely atly going to Bavarian inn from now on.
Expensive!!!

Very expensive for what you get. The food is good but not outstanding and the chicken was a little dry. $26 for two small chicken legs a scoop of potatoes and a small Ceasers salad ?
