This place is somewhere my family has been coming for generations. Today they took me for my birthday and it was horrible. The host that took us to our table was sarcastic and rude. The food was absolutely awful. Everything tasted microwaved. The dressing and noodles were mushy. The mashed potatoes were crunchy. The vegetables were undercooked and raw. The ice cream was strange. My mother almost choked on a bone in her dressing. My parents were disappointed because for birthdays they used to do something special for someone and today they did nothing. The gluten free meal we received had no seasoning at all. When we asked for customer support help on the website they were very rude to my 70 year old mother and when I called them out on it, they didn't even apologize. Rude workers. Bad food. And it's sad because after four generations of coming here, we will no longer attend.

Wonderful food (cole slaw was my absolute FAVORITE). Our server was fantastic! Wish I wrote her name down but we had a lovely conversation about her sister who lived in a town in California, which is the town I grew up in. Such a small chance to meet such a kind gal with ties to the same tiny sliver of the world, who loves every bit of her job in the way she does. We will definitely be back! Thank you!!!

Lots of goodies here. Lots of bakery items from bread to cakes and candies. We like to visit the day old items. They are just as good as fresh and most of them can be frozen. They sell a lot of things served in the restaurant upstairs. They also sell flavored coffees and jellies and jams. Take your time and do a little exploring. We always find interesting things in the store.Wheelchair accessibility: Difficult, must use front entrance.

I gotten a few small singe server cakes from the all of which were awesome. The best one bar far I have had was the German chocolate cake. Their donuts are really good also.

Worst food experience I can remember. 2 adults 3 kids...5 chicken dinners and 5 drinks. $165 without tip. The chicken was awful, dry and tasteless. Brought out 2 wings and 5 backs. Sides were less than mediocre. It was close to cafeteria food. I can't believe people talk about this place being good, The server was ok and the lace was reasonably clean. Won't be back.

We sat in a side room that was quiet and not too noisy. Ordered off the menu as wet didn't want all you can eat. The did was good. The service was timely and the price was a little high, but otherwise good. Would go back again.

Great food choices and really fun to share the plethora they offer. I usually don't like cottage cheese and theirs is exceptional! All the food was really good and chicken was tasty as heck. We are from Idaho so we had an awesome time!

I wouldn't consider us regulars at Frankenmuth but we do show up every couple of years or when we have visitors from out of town. And we have always gone to Bavarian Inn; so this was our first time at Zehnders. We were told that both places were run by members of the same family using the same or similar family recipes. We have had the all-you-can-eat family style chicken dinners and also ordered the standard chicken dinner with many side dishes. It kind of depends on how hungry you are. For this visit I ordered the three piece Chicken dinner and my wife had the two piece. Right away my wife got a bite that was way over salted and that killed her impression of food at Zehnders. We never had that type of experience at Bavarian Inn! The rest of her meal was normal as was my meal. The service was great with just the right amount of attention. I enjoyed my meal and we both were full and had some packed to go home.

The food here is always excellent. It does seem the chicken recipe has changed and it isn't as good as it once was. The star of the dinner for us was the bowl of noodles. The flavor of those noodle are excellent - they are tender - then there is a nice crunch on top with the bread crumbs. We always look forward to those noodles! Our service was okay - refills were a little slow, but the food came out in a timely manner. The restaurant was not overly busy, which was nice. We were able to get seated quickly and we could have a conversation as it wasn't too loud in the restaurant. If you are here for your free birthday meal, be sure to take your receipt to Bronner's for your free ornament. You can sign up for your free birthday meal through the Zehnder's website (make sure you do so the month before your birthday).

We went for lunch on a Tuesday, and I was not impressed at all. I was looking forward to a juicy, flavorful piece of chicken and it was not good, it had this old taste to it, like it was fried yesterday, not fresh at all, not really hot, and it was tasteless, no good flavor, I ate a few bites of it. The mashed potatoes and gravey were good. I'm not a fan of stuffing, but it came with the meal but I didn't eat it. I ordered a side of the buttered noodles and those were the only delicious thing I ate! They should have a menu option to create a chicken dinner/meal, where you can not only pick your chicken like they have, but to also be able to choose your sides. Zehender's needs to up their old game chicken...
