Joe is very accommodating , just all around nice person. Thank you Joe!!
There is nothing better than Northern Lake Michigan Whitefish that is so fresh it was swimming earlier in the day.
Joe was nice to talk to. Gave me a tip to help me fillet and a fillet knife to help. Joe also gave me a sample of my first smoked white fish. Awesome ?.
So relaxing
So relaxing
They did not have any smoked fish. And no one was around to answer questions.
It was wonderful
Great people that are a part of this fishing community. Everyone we communicated with was very cool... honor system for the huge ice house and the prices will naturally inspire you to throw in a couple more bucks . It is an indoor cleaning station with a walk in ice room you take by the (provided) shovelful. I think it was $6 for an extra large cooler. We had the honor of meeting the owner, Joe Peterson, he was cleaning his own fish while we were there and is such a neat personality. Highly recommend!
Showed up on Monday morning just after 9am to purchase whitefish boneless fillets. Awesome experience. This commercial fishery uses very sustainable methods so only specific sizes and species are harvested. I'm going to be eating more whitefish. Delicious
Joe petersons fishery is a great place to stay. The people down there are awesome. Love it there.

Not much there for the long drive down the peninsula
The Peterson Brothers et.al are great and very friendly people. Anyone who says they are not, would not be telling the truth. These guys are very conscientious fishermen who provide the best fresh whitefish products in the world. The best...hands down!
My family owned this fishery many years ago, and after it was sold it was actually featured in Somewhere in Time. I absolutely love Fairport
Lots of fish and friendly fishermen
Lousy place to visit unfriendly people
