The Dock Grill And Bar at Bay Ridge RV Park

My wife and I stumbled across this place driving back home from a vacation in Marquette. We figured it was just your standard local bar and grill. Definitely definitely not!

The food was absolutely incredible, exceptional value, and the atmosphere and overall experience was top notch. We came after the lunch rush, and had the outdoor deck seating to ourselves, which gave us amazing views of the bay and Lake Michigan. While the actual dock was empty, there is room for for about a dozen boats, and I can easily envision us bringing ours up here someday.

We both had fish baskets, and it's genuinely some of the best fish we've had - and we've had a lot of fish 🤣. Cold beer served in frosted glasses, and they even make their own cherry Coke!

My wife said that she would come up this way again just to eat here, and I have to agree. Do yourself a favor and make time to eat at The Dock!

Great surprise find after visiting Fayette! We ordered the Michigan Cherry Salad with Whitefish instead of chicken — the staff was super accommodating, and the portions were huge. The Whitefish was excellent. Our son got the kids’ Whitefish meal and devoured it. Beautiful atmosphere, great view, friendly staff. A perfect stop and highly recommended.

I love this place! Great food, great service in a great atmosphere. I really love being right on the water. There are not a lot of tables so the noise level isn't bad at all and you can have a conversation at a normal volume. It's a bit pricey, but well worth the money.

Delicious Friday fish fry. Out of whitefish, but the walleye was great. Indoor & outdoor dining.

My favorite Newport restaurant. I came last year around this time and had an amazing dish. Last weekend we booked a last minute reservation and dropped in. We were greeted by the same hostess who was so wonderful and kind- making sure we liked the table and asked if we preferred a different one. Sat in the section that was serviced by Frankie (same outstanding server we had last year). He was memorable then and memorable this time too! We even told him about the fresh halibut and risotto we had last time and although not on the menu that evening, he talked to Chef and Chef made it just for us. Can we say EXCEPTIONAL service?? The ambiance seals the deal with its serenity - like you're spending the evening in a peaceful warm lit dockside with your friends. After dinner, take a beautiful walk near the water and take it all in. Newport dining at its finest. Thank you to The Dock for making our evening special.

This has been my favorite restaurant for 7 years. We come usually at least twice for a beautiful meal and setting for special occasions. We've always had exceptional service and food. The reservation was at 515 on a Friday evening. It was super loud and hard to hear the person sitting across from you. The server completely forgot to get out my cocktail and my grandma's wine. 45 min later I reminded him and no apology. Then he was refilling my sparkling water and dropped the bottle on our table as well. Once again no apology. I'm sorry was so strange. I don't believe he was wanted to address or acknowledge that he had made a couple mistakes but not to apologize or anything was annoying. It's called be a human. The staff is usually the family that owns the place and I don't think they were there that night. They are so good at what they do but this server they hired was having a hard time. It took him a long long time too to take our order. We were turned off after this experience and I'm not sure we will go back. Usually tho we go during the week so it's not as busy and loud. The food is outstanding though. You can't go wrong on any of the entrees and the little gem salad is exactly that-a gem. Maybe it was just an off night on the service. Maybe our server was having a bad day...

We celebrated our 59th Anniversary at the Dock based upon many recommendations from friends and relatives. We could not have chosen a better place ! The ambience is first class...( thanks for providing the full moon...perfect timing ! )...the staff and service could not be better...( we made some new friends...! )...and, of course, the food is world-class ! Thank you so much for an amazing and truly memorable experience...the Dock is officially our new favorite place !
