Big menu with many choices to fit anyone's taste and age. The food is always beautifully prepared and the staff is very friendly. Before and after visiting Rafi's, enjoy the quaint downtown of Gaylord, MI.

Some so called sushi chef gave this place 4 stars. He must have been fired for excess drinking because Im pretty sure their cook was at home watching Scooby Doo and they needed a cook so called him and offered him the job for the day. My advice if you're considering Raffi's? DONT DO IT.

One very positive thing at Rafi’s, nice server, not sure of her name, long dark hair. This is an Asian restaurant with no Asian ambiance. There was pop music playing which would’ve been fine except it was obviously on a free app because commercials kept coming on. At one point a Tremfya commercial came on talking about diarrhea and infection… not super appetizing! The food was just ok. We ordered two specialty sushi rolls, both of them were over $20 each. They came out together on one small plate. One roll was only 4 pieces and the other only 6. I think this is because of the large size in diameter which actually made the rolls much too wide to eat in one bite. This could’ve still been ok but they were not rolled tightly enough to stay together to cut or to bite into without the entire thing falling apart. The Jumbo Spider Roll had almost no meat in it. The tempura breading was thicker than the actual meat. TBH I’ve had better sushi from Meijer. I probably wouldn’t have written this bad review, but the receipt had the following phrase on it. “How are we doing? Text dgxtcb” to 73752 to send us your feedback”. So I did and when I attempted to provide a negative response it replied that this isn’t a valid code so I wanted to make sure to send my feedback to Rafi’s somehow. This experience for wasn’t any fun and we likely won’t return.

Staff was friendly. The restaurant was clean. The food was mostly good but kind of expensive. Our sushi roll was good and the kimchi was great. The salad was literally underwater swimming in the dressing. For the hibachi dinner, the scallops were cooked very nicely and delicious and the steak was very tasty but a bit overcooked. The big disappointment was the fried rice. The fried rice tasted like rice-a-roni.
Not a bad meal, but not great and it was kind of expensive.

Ordered a drink and it wasn’t brought out until everyone was done eating. Also they charge more for cards but don’t put it anywhere, so you don’t know until the bill comes. They also change the prices from the menu to the bill.
