My wife ordered fried rice, and they brought her white rice, which she was willing to eat (the server did not ask if everything looked correct, she dropped off the food and immediately walked away) until she realized it was covered in what we think was teriyaki sauce, even though there were two cups of sauce that came on her plate.We sat and ate over the course of the next half hour, and not once did our server or anyone else stop at our table to ask how anything was, whether we needed anything else, nothing. The restaurant had maybe two other groups of customers at the time between 2 and 3PM.As we wrapped up eating, our server (again, her name was Vania) finally returned to ask if we wanted more water (real smart cookie here, to ignore our empty glasses for all that time, only to offer it when we are finished) I said I was fine but my wife said "Yes, please." The server's response was to look at my wife and say,"You're good too then?" At this point, we just wanted to leave, so as we were leaving our payment, we decided this was bad service, not just average, so we chose not to tip this time. As we are putting on our coats, our server then stands just off to the side, hovering, waiting to clean up. So it was very important we get out but not important that we be treated well.This morning, we discovered they charged us an extra 10 dollars (nowhere on the bill was it mentioned that gratuity was required, nor was it mentioned that it would be automatically added at any point)Vania STOLE from us.Average food that was not exactly what we ordered, poor to no service at almost every point that it was needed, and a slap on the hand as a punishment for their own terrible service.When we called to fix it, they fought us every step of the way until they refunded us.We will not be visiting again, and we will be sure to let anyone we know visiting the area to NOT go to Rafi's. Ever.

There isn't a single thing I would change about Rafi's. Consistently Delicious Food, a breakfast and lunch menu for early in the day with a range of selections. It is by far the best sushi within hundreds of miles. Gaylord is lucky to have this little hotspot. Stop in any time of the day, you will be surprised and delighted. <3 if I could give them more than 5 stars I absolutely would . By far my favorite place to eat in town :D
Got the Philadelphia tempura roll and the spicy California tempura roll and both were amazing. Very clean place with a great atmosphere. Waitress was very friendly and made sure all my requests/needs were met. Owner was also very friendly, came up to my table to greet me and even complimented me on my hair. Love this place and will definitely come back!

Presentation was spectacular. 80$ for Combo #1 Sushi Boat, but included so much Sushi and extras, it's an excellent value compared to buying the rolls separately. Highly recommend if you are looking for Quality Sushi in Northern Michigan! ingredients were delicious and fresh. So much love in the presentation!

Decent food negative stars for the hibachi dinners being a bit pricey. The miso soup and salad weren't as we'd come to expect from hibachi either. I think most prefer the orange colored dressing compared to the ginger dressing for the salad too. Would I go again? Yeah I might if I was in this so area craving hibachi and or sushi.

I'd been planning to take my fiance for his birthday. He loves sushi. But he wasn't even aware there was sushi close to home. He was so surprised when we pulled up. Rafis did NOT disappoint. I had hibachi, I'm not a sushi fan. My chicken and fried rice was so yummy. He had spicy California roll and Philadelphia roll and he said it was better then what he's had in Green Bay! As we were getting ready to leave we were told we had something else coming. We didn't order anything else..they brought fried ice cream for his birthday! Service was fantastic, atmosphere is beautiful ❤
No one speaks English and they hand you a plastic menu to circle what you want and somehow still get it wrong?! Way over priced for sushi that is absolutely no bettet then Meijers, please tell me, why was a cucumber avocado roll Hot?! Never ever again. Save your money, Real sushi isn't made by a group of nok English spealing illegals.
