We went here twice when we were staying in the area. The first time was a solid 4 stars, but the second was a 1 star. The first time, our waitress was ok, even though I had to flag her down for anything, otherwise, she would never have come to fill water or anything else. But the food was good.
The second, the cherry salad sandwich had only 4 cherries in it, and it was advertised as being on a croissant, which it was not. Not good at all. Our waiter had no idea what he was doing. He didn't even say hi or know how to talk to another person, let alone wait on us. He awkwardly stood there for a solid 10 seconds before we had to say hello to him. He then proceeded to basically not help us the rest of the night. I actually love how 90% of the staff are high schoolers, however, this place needs to train them, cause they clearly are not based on our two experiences. I would not go back and you can find better places to eat.

It was 70 dollars for 2 burgers and a basket of fries and pretzels and how do you mess up on a burger and it felt like that all the seasoning was put on the fries (to the point of being shit) but the drinks were sour and over carbonated. Worst 70 spent here

Cherry Public House is a disappointing detour from what could have been a pleasant dining experience. The food, sadly, misses the mark—dishes arrive lackluster, tasting more like an afterthought than a crafted meal. While the menu has potential, the execution feels uninspired, leaving you wishing for something more memorable.
The service, unfortunately, doesn’t fare much better. Despite a sizable crew of high school and college-aged staff, the operation feels disjointed. Our table waited far too long for silverware, and drink orders were mixed up with little urgency to correct the mistakes. With so many staff members around, the sluggish pace of service was surprising and frustrating, as if no one was steering the ship.
Cherry Public House has the bones of a decent spot but stumbles hard on delivery. It’s not a lost cause, but it needs serious work to live up to its promise. For now, you might find a more satisfying meal elsewhere.
The gift shop had delish candied cherries though.

Food was like cafeteria food nothing special. Waited over a hour for food when the place was more than half empty. On top of it food came out cold. Asked the server to get new food because I’m not paying for cold food. She rolled her eyes and said well why don’t you go somewhere else. The restaurant is a joke. Rest of it is nice.

Horrible service. Had to keep asking for our waiter who kept disappearing. Waited a hour for food. Food was okay. Nothing special. The worst thing was the cost! Charged extra for every little thing added to burgers and sandwiches; the American burger w/ cherry smoked bacon. $4 for the bacon, $1 for onions, $1 for pickles, $.50 for mayo! That should be part of a burger! Total cost of that burger was $22.50. Just the burger! There were 8 of us 4 adults and 4 kids. The bill was $305.43. Everyone drank water with their meals and only 1 beer was ordered! The tip was automatically added at 20%. Won’t ever return to this restaurant. Outrageous cost for eating apps, burgers and a basket of fries!

Cute little restaurant with fabulous customer service by the gentleman who served us in outside seating. Unfortunately, the menu lacks healthy options and few vegetarian options.

We stopped in for a late lunch after visiting the Dunes. We were able to get a table outside right away. The service was fast and friendly - all young adults. The grounds are very cute with various places to eat. It is very much a Michigan-y restaurant with every way to use cherries carried out.
We started with the cherry salsa and chips. The salsa was so good we bought a bottle in the store (the chips were mediocre at best). We then ordered the Republic House Salad with Cherry Balsamic dressing. It was very good. My wife had a grilled chicken sandwich that was just okay. The fries come in a paper bag and are seasoned well - they were great. This place is worth the stop if you are in the area. It is touristy, but in the best way. The food is solid, and the shop and wine shop on the grounds were fun. We bought many items at Cherry Republic to take home. I forgot to take pictures of our food.

We had lunch here, and it was fantastic! Everything has a cherry spin of course .The setting was adorable, and we ate outside. We had the burger with the cherry jam and the Parmesan-crusted grilled cheese - amazing! The seasoned fries were delicious as well. We loved the cherry bomb hot sauce so much that we bought some immediately at the store. I’m a big fan of the cherry salsa as well so had to stock up on that. I will definitely be back!

The burgers were average at best. The pulled pork was quite good, and we enjoyed our beers. Fries were the highlight. I wouldn’t go back but I don’t regret having gone.

We went during our group trip and had an amazing time. Our waitress was Leslie and she was INCREDIBLE, very engaging and sweet. The food was very unique because it all incorporated the cherries and was a nice twist on popular foods. Would definitely love to go again.

Waited over 1 hour for a hot dog and fries. Ton’s of college aged kids run this place. They forgot my drink order. There were roughly a dozen of them walking around, but doing absolutely nothing of value. When I told one of them our table didn’t have silverware, they just told me to steal it from an adjacent table. Absolutely horrendous service. This place seems like it was good about 20 years ago, then they got rich, and now it sucks. Avoid, unless you want to be massively disappointed.

Public House is always a hit. There's great food and it's one of the best spots in town to grab a meal. I would recommend the cherry chicken salad, hands down the best chicken salad I've had. Don't sleep on the pulled pork sandwich or the seasoned french fries that come in a bag.
