One of the best restaurants and cafes we’ve recently visited. The food and service was fantastic and we will come back as frequently as possible.
Came for lunch. Placed a dining order, 30 minutes later placed a counter order for coffees and a hibiscus soda. We finished those before our food came out… food took 50-55 minutes on a Monday afternoon at 3pm, hardly a busy time.
Seems as if there are three people working and service is not their forte; somebody warned us of their service when we came again to escape the rain. Nice wooded interior and they have board games/wifi.
Cannot speak for dinner service but lunch was underwhelming both taste, price, and experience wise.
Pastry was great. My quiche needed salt, pepper, some flavor…anything. Was supposed to come with a bacon onion jam. It did not. Came with pickled red onions??
Not sure I could come up with enough amazing things to say about the dinner we just had here. From start to finish everything was perfect. Every bite of food was the type that warmed your soul. I wanted to stop and compliment the chefs for crafting such amazing recipes on the way out. The cocktails were perfectly balanced with a drink choice for every palate. The service was excellent. Our server Raquel perfectly embodied the vibes of Glen Arbor, relaxed and joyful with an ability to guide you through the menu options. Our group of 7 have seen plenty of amazing restaurants in our time, but this one seemed to stand above the rest. I would highly recommend not coming to Glen Arbor without making sure this stop is on your list. 5 stars isn’t even enough.
The restaurant offered a very pleasant dining experience and atmosphere. The food was well prepared, great flavors and thought out pairings. Best food I've ate in the area. Megan and Sarah took great care of my wife and I. We will definitely stop in whenever we are visiting Sleeping Bear.
We only stopped for some snacks and a drink. The place was remodeled very well. It’s expensive. We were able to get some bread, tinned fish, and some pickled onions to snack on. I’d like to try the restaurant if we are back in the area.
Atmosphere was lovely. On the water in the basement of an old mill. I had the salmon and it was very nicely done but very small portions and no sides are included. My husband had the hamburger and said that it was very undercooked and did not taste very good. We really enjoyed the potato cubes and the pickled cucumbers which were exceptional. The Service was pleasant, but not very efficient. as for the value, I would say that their prices were very high.
Pretty little location!
Small drinks for the money, but I guess that's the convenience standard.
The food was ok. the main course was appetizer size. After dinner I went home hungry. Just not worth it.
We love The Mill!

Rye at the Mill is such a special place to stay! The room is beautifully decorated, offering a peaceful and quiet retreat. The natural setting by the Crystal River and along the lakeshore is truly unmatched. Plus, the café at the Mill serves 5-star coffee options and delicious food. I can’t wait to return!

This is most certainly a place I would return time and time again! The location and setting couldn't have been any more peaceful and pristine, located next to a creek where the trout were jumping. The accommodations were 5-star in every way with attention to detail in decorations and comfort. Situated next to the old mill which now houses a delicious cafe and restaurant made this lodging more of a destination than just a place to spend the night. And I almost forgot to mention how welcoming the "front desk" reception was! (My only suggestion is to get rid of the pea gravel so my suitcase can roll.)

This place was lovely! The coffee, sandwiches, and bread were so good that we ordered more for takeaway.
The setting and staff made the experience a delight. You can tell they pay attention to details here and we appreciated the extra touches.
Looking forward to visiting for supper!
