Will definitely be back! My husband and I decided to give this place a try last weekend, and we are so happy we did! The food, service (we had Janet as our server) and atmosphere was exceptional. Highly recommend the Bavarian pretzel, mustard crusted trout (i got mine with spätzle!) and steak frites!
Sending a big THANK YOU to the owner, Eric, and his friendly staff at Irene's Kitchen and Biergarten in Grand Blanc! The outdoor venue is amazing; sparing no expense in creating such a beautiful & inviting atmosphere for a perfect night out with family! What surprised us the most about this evening? As we were enjoying the exceptional service, top notch live entertainment by Justin Rose, and just soaking in the magic of the atmosphere, it was starting to get a little chilly...but no fear, Eric was right there to save the night! Not having met him yet or knowing who he was, he litterly carried over to our table one of the many standing propane heaters, lit it for us and made sure we were warm and comfortable! I mean, in all my years in working in the hospitality industry and frequenting great restaurants, I've never seen an owner to personally go so far as to assure the comfort of their guests! He engaged us in a great conversation; he was so humble about his business adventure in opening this amazing venue and so appreciative of our patronage! Made us feel like family! So, thank you Eric, it was so great meeting you and you have new customers for life! We look forward to many more nights at Irene's and can't wait to bring in our out of towners so they too can experience the magic of Irene's! (Also, you must have Justin Rose back...he was amazing!)
We tried again and again the food was awful. Small portions, higher price and not good. The place itself is beautiful. If only the food were good, they would have a winner. Hopefully, they will completely change their menu. Ugh. Not going back unless they do. Also, why have a beer tasting and not have the beer available for purchase that you are tasting? That’s also not great.
Stuffed cabbages were like rubber overcooked and hard ,schnitzel was overcooked also

Gorgeous building and super cute rooms but the food is subpar. my husband's paprika chicken sandwich had such a small amount of "stuff" on it that when you looked from the front or sides it just like like 2 slices of bread! My spatzle was cold, not even slightly warm. Love German food so was excited to have a new restaurant in town but I guess we will continue to drive to Detroit to get good food!
Good Food! Makes you feel.like it came from your Mom's kitchen. Nice atmosphere. waiting for warmer weather to enjoy the outside area.
Came in yesterday for dinner and food was delicious, I got the chicken paprikash and my boyfriend got the trout, both are to die for!! Janie was our server and she was fantastic, she explained the menu to us with our millions of questions. Will definitely be back!
"It reminds me of food my grandma used to make. That was a darn good dinner. It was well worth the drive." These were the comments I heard from my better half throughout our first visit to Irene's. The atmosphere, music playing, food, staff (Brittany was a great server!), everything.... perfection. We highly recommend you try it out. This is now one of our favorite restaurants.

Comfortable atmosphere. Make reservations early. Appetizers are outstanding; if you are used to usual fare, it will surprise you. The chef was very accommodating; he changed my schnitzel to a jagerschnitzel even though it wasn’t on the menu. Schnitzel was crisp and delicious. The crème brûlée had the proper crust and consistency. Top notch. Highly recommended.

Arrived at 4:00 opening hour on Friday night (3 weeks after opening). Manager greeted us at door. Great atmosphere, beautiful decor, will try lounge areas another time. People poured in after we arrived. Dinner great. Will critique stuffed cabbage/pierogi dish. Cabbage rolls hard to cut...cabbage should be cooked longer. Mashed potatoes need some flavoring...bland. Beef stroganoff very good, as well as french onion and Borscht soup. All in all...will be back to try other menu items and Brunch when that becomes available in near future. Service was top notch. Loved limited menu to choose from..can't go wrong on any choice.

I've been to Irene's three times now and each time has been a consistent wonderful experience. The food is all made from scratch and authentic European cuisine. The schnitzel is probably the best I've had in comparison to Hofbrauhaus in Kentucky and Maders in Milwaukee, I only wish they offered Jägerschnitzel which is a traditional preparation with a mushroom gravy.
However a little secret is to order a side of pan gravy that can achieve an equally delicious result. The menu contains excellent diversity in European dishes, though you may need your phone to understand what some of the dishes are. Perhaps a more descriptive menu could be an improvement. The desserts are also all made from scratch, and my absolute favorite is the Black Forest Cake. You can taste the scratch quality in everything you taste!
Service has also been great every time that I have been there. I always give the benefit of the doubt when a restaurant is so new, but Irene's staff is already performing excellently. The owner makes their presence known and is constantly checking on their diners experience, which is also refreshing.
Grand Blanc in my opinion has been lacking a unique dining experience for a long time. It seems lately there's been a focus on sandwich shops or chicken shops. Italian and Pizza also get old after a while. Irene's is a breath of fresh air that the Grand Blanc community has been needing for a long time.
Irene's unique scratch European cuisine offers something delicious for everyone, it's atmosphere finally provides a comfortable and elegant eatery that's been missing in the community, and I'm excited to see what they can do with the outdoor biergarten in the summer.
Parking: Paved parking next to the restaurant is limited, but there is plenty of space in the gravel lot across the road.
