They used to be 5 star but they must have changed ownership or something, i only received 52% of my beef for double the price of a different butcher. My other members one received 49%. I have to add that the cuts are good and price was high due to such a large cow.

We recently had 3 steers butchered by Sage’s and we were blown away by their service. We have used multiple other butchers in the Grand Rapids area prior to this time and our repeat customers had so many wonderful things to say about the friendliness and knowledge of the staff at Sages.
Picked up our personal 1/4 today and the packaging is wonderful. Neatly vacuum sealed - all perfectly cut to order.
My customers were also excited about the options available to them in their orders (pre-smoked brisket & beef bacon!!)
We will be coming back from now on! Can’t wait to get our hogs in as well!
As producers - trying out a new butcher can be nerve wracking - so pleased to say that this experience was the best we’ve had.

very disappointed in the processing my beef, two times this has happened , cutting instructions specifically asking for 1 in cuts of the steaks, get 3/4 intch, then getting excuses for the the reason why that happened. not good service

Even though sages are further away from us than many other processors we are more than happy to drive there for these folks. Their drop off and pick up is great their staff is great and we feel like our animals are treated properly.

We just picked up our pork this morning and had pork steaks on the grill tonight! We waited a good 6 months for the right time to go to the butcher and we can already tell it’s worth the wait. Sages is the place to go if you care about clean facilities, vacuum packaging so you can see what your getting, and honest prices. The packages include the name and weight of each item and they stay fresh for up to a year in the freezer. We’ve used Sages as our butcher for both beef and pork over about 7 years and have been very satisfied. Friendly, family business.
