new trivia guy way too slow, infuriating. the beer is also bad
The SE MI Brewery Discovery Tour continues. (I'm done counting, it takes too much effort)
The building used to be a church. I personally love that repurposing. (Once saw a church knocked down to put in a Walmart! ) The layout works great: big U-shaped bar surrounded by 4-seat high-top tables. The all-important stainless steel vessels taking the place of the pulpit & choir. 6 big screens are spread around for the sports oriented. There is a room of the back of the main one with big leather-clad easy chairs & an actual fireplace. So cozy.
The free parking is in the back but you have to enter from the Biergarten which is entered from the corner. So, if you or a compadre are using a wheelchair, get dropped off at the corner.
The beer list is pretty broad, 2 pages, the food menu is of decent size.
Got a Lip Lock Cherry stout followed by a Peach Blonde. The stout was less sweet than expected (based on nothing) but nicely balanced. The peach version of the Dirty Blonde was tasty and refreshing.
Ate an Atwater Brat in-between. The brat was OK. The pretzel bun was good, the toppings (cheese, jalapeños, bacon bits) were good, too. The brat itself was the weak spot, tasted too much like a big hotdog.
This is become our go to spot on the weekdays with the family. Whether you want to sit outside on the amazing patio or inside in the old church, you can’t lose in either location. Service is always super great- the servers and bartenders are always very friendly and attentive, but I think the best part is (aside from the beer) they recently redid the little event room, which is now filled with insane amount of boardgames and four different large screen TVs that have vintage Nintendo and Sega games for free. It’s totally awesome. Great place for the family where the parents can watch football, have great beer and food and let the kids just hang out in the back room and play. Actually, I’ve been going there for well over a year and didn’t even notice they recently reconfigured the little rumpus room in the back and when I was leaving with the family, i went back there and played video games for an extra 30 minutes. I couldn’t even get pulled out of there. Totally awesome.
The outdoor patio on a 79 deg day with a slight breeze is phenomenal!
This was a perfect spot to sit outside and enjoy some delicious food and drinks on a gorgeous fall day. The biergarten was beautiful and we were really impressed with the quality of food. The GM took great care of us and showed the kids the brand new game room inside full of tons of board games and video games. Highly recommend checking this spot out- we will definitely be back!!
This was an awesome place which we stumbled upon while visiting the area. Great food, my husband loved the beer and the staff was outstanding! Charlie, the general manager, was super friendly and welcoming. Recommend this place highly!!
I had a very poor experience today when I attempted to grab some lunch with a friend and our kids. We were the only folks in the place yet staff couldn’t be bothered to help with fairly standard questions about ingredients and allergens.
My son has food allergies and when I attempted to ask about ingredients in one menu item, the server’s response was near hostile, as he agitatedly told me “he can’t make any promises.” He refused to help provide the ingredient list and when I asked if I could just ask the chef directly I was told “Well he won’t know either. Everything is from a box.” At this point I was told the brand of the item so I could apparently try to look it up myself. I decided I’d take my business elsewhere, especially when I could run down the street and buy the same item from the grocery store for a fraction of the price.
As the co-owner of a local restaurant myself, where we readily share ingredients and allergen information with customers, I’m shocked that allergen information is not available and find such inconsiderate and rude treatment from the staff member “helping” me today to be truly poor form.
Atmosphere 5 out of 5. Drinks 5 out of 5 (no surprise there). Food was a 4 out of 5. Kinda average on the food. Service was ok.
We came for trivia and it wasn't bad, but I prefer Quizzo. All in all, it was a good time and super cool place to grab a beer.
The atmosphere puts this place over the top. Nice selection of hand crafted beer, good food, and a beautiful courtyard to sip it in on a hot summer night. It's definitely a cool place to try out if you haven't already.
Wow! A true 5 star experience! The only thing better than the Big Ol Pretzel and the D Light was the service. Love that the patio is dog friendly.

Juanita is the best waitress I've had in a long time! Been here twice, had her kind service both times. Considerate, well spoken, kind. This woman deserves a raise!
Oh, and the food and drinks were delicious and the setting lovely.
Great beer, excellent staff!
Great vibe and food! Love the venue being an old church. Charlie the manager is great ,treated our table very nice!! Would highly recommend to anyone to go here!
The food was very good. We appreciate the vegan options. The manager (Charlie) was very nice, so accommodating and approach able.
We always enjoy sitting at the bar. Charlie is the best and the service is always excellent. Whether you like cocktails or beer, there is something for everyone. The food is great, too!
