I was excited to have a night out with my girlfriends but was underwhelmed by Brine. I felt the waitress did not explain the menu well at all despite us trying to ask questions. She also didn’t explain that the appetizer roll was just one roll and not shareable. She did a poor job on checking up on our table and did not explain the oysters or the charcuterie options well. The Oysters are fresh although priced individually. I got the pot roast dish which was okay, but nothing to write home about in the flavor department. The presentation of the food was beautiful and so was the decor in the restaurant but the food and service were lack luster. I didn’t care for the drinks I got either. One was a cucumber drink, which was an odd combination of flavors and the other was a purple drink which was bitter tasting.

The food was subpar, ordered a salad, but 1/3 of the greens were wilted/not fresh, along with S. Africa cornbread, which must have had seafood residue because my skin broke out due to my allergic reaction to seafood. My friend ordered shrimp, saffron risotto, and wasn’t happy with his order either, however his drink order gets 5 stars along with the bartender. The manager recognized my obvious disappointment with the food and deducted the cornbread from the bill, which was appreciated. Neither of us is interested in returning, noting that perhaps mussels are the go to items on the menu, which neither of us ordered, however it was my expectation that complimentary items on the menu should meet the expectations of the money spent.

Oysters were phenomenal!! And the sauces with them were the best ive had. Lobster eggrolls were amazing. Great food! Table at the top of the stairs was a bit of high traffic area, but otherwise everything was lovely.

First of I would like to say compliments to the chef!! This place came recommended by the fellow yelper and it did not disappoint. We made a reservation for Saturday evening, place was not packed we were seated in the downstairs area by the bar clean neat decor with NOLA vibes. Our server was great she recommended the oysters based on your preference and suggested the beef tartar as an appetizer. For main dish we opted for shrimp risotto and chefs special that evening was sea-bass with crusted vegetables. Outstanding fish was buttery and flaky and risotto had ton of flavor. Dessert was an interesting combination of sponge cake soaked up with caramelized pears just wow!! They also have a live jazz music upstairs. Great experience absolutely worse a drive. Will be back to try more dishes

For the cost, the value simply isn't there. The space is very nice but the dining experience and the food wasn't on the level expected for the seafood that was on the menu. Drinks were good but it's not a place I would go to for drinks exclusively which leaves it stunk in the middle for me. It may be an option for a very, very occasional meal in a place I won't frequent but I wouldn't consider this a top choice for going regularly. Grosse Pointe Park has added a number of new options over the last 4-5 years and it's disappointing that none seen to really, really stand out for what they do.

Our dinners were excellent, a bit pricey but that’s what I get for not asking how much the special cost. One guest ordered soup and an entree but they arrived at the same time (?) Lots of staff and bartenders but it took at least 15 minutes each time we ordered a drink. $3 upcharge for 1(one!) blue cheese olive. I’ll never make that mistake again. The music was great but hard to hear from where we were sitting and a very loud table next to us.

We went to brine for first time. It was not a pleasant experience. We were seated at first table by the door. When we asked the man who seated us to move, he said no. When there were 3 open tables further back. We also thought we'd get a table near the music. The music is upstairs and we were on first floor. We ordered an entree, it was good but small potions. Not sure if we will go back.

Came here to celebrate a birthday. Oysters were very good and that's about where the good ends. Our server didn't know much about the types of alcohol they had and was constantly looking things up. Simple question like what is your well whiskey, or having a different kind. Had to flag her down quite a few times to order apps then main entree's. Food was just ok. Lobster spring roll was really good, and the mini taro tako taco was delicious. But like the menu says, mini. That thing was 1-2 bites. The mini breathing rock slider was very good also and a bit bigger than the taco. The Paella Fritters were absolutely disgusting and tasted like old seafood. We sent it back because there was no way they were fresh. Fried Seafood Rissole was delicious also to finish up our appetizer tasting. Entrees were good but nothing memorable, except the scallops were perfectly cooked. In the end the price doesn't justify the service and food imho. We would go back for oysters and espresso martini's. Other than that it's an ok place.

Wow! Amazing ambiance, service, cocktails, and food! We came here for Valentine's Day and were not disappointed. Our server gave us great recommendations for the oysters (selection listed in images) and it did not disappoint. Everything was cooked perfectly, we will definitely be coming back.
