Such a cozy and yummy local spot!! The owner Jeff is so kind and committed to his restaurant. He was courteous and very interactive with our little one, making a point to try and make him giggle. If you want a good spot to eat at with a family feel, check it out ASAP. Also get the golden margarita, you’ll thank me later.

They close at 8 and 5 minutes to 8 we were rushed out before we could even finish eating and they took our drinks before we could finish… and by they I mean the OWNER. Hard pass on this place.

So much to look at and the owner is great with kids and adults alike, a real people person. Food is always good and prices are very reasonable. Hours are short so it’s usually busy but wait time has never been long in my experience.

The most American Mexican food I’ve ever had, I don’t understand the mostly good reviews. I had the Beef Chimichanga and the beef inside tasted like pot roast, it was as if my Polish grandma took a stab at cooking Mexican.

ALWAYS wonderful food, great service, and welcoming atmosphere. Their margaritas are top notch too! The staff always looks like they are having the best time and the owner is a community gem. Love this cozy spot.

Sierra Station – East Detroit/Gross Point (Mack Avenue)

I have been a loyal customer of Sierra Station since the late 1990’s. Over the years, I have witnessed changes in the atmosphere, but the décor has continued to improve, creating a warm and inviting setting. The food remains flavorful and consistent, and it is a place my family continues to enjoy.

While I no longer visit as frequently, there are several staff members who always make my experience memorable. Laura, Margie, and bartender Jay are all truly a stand out for their professionalism and attentiveness. Jay, in particular, provides excellent service on Friday’s, which keeps me coming back.

There are a few employees that have known me since the 1990’s and always act like they do not even know who I am at all. 🤔

I at one time in my life was a server, I understand the importance of gratuity and taking care of the employees that take care of me. I’d like to add that humbly.

Menu highlights include the Golden Margarita, which is outstanding, and the Mexican Camarones, a flavorful dish that I highly recommend.

I last visited on August 24, 2025, and, as always, the service with Margie & food was excellent. Sierra Station has been a part of my dining tradition for decades, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for great Mexican food, quality drinks, and friendly service on the east side of Detroit/Gross Point.

The food is soooo delicious! Large portions! Great atmosphere and friendly, wonderful waitstaff. We try to come every Thursday for the margaritas on special that day! Never disappointed! ❤️

This. Food. Was. Terrible. Service was ok. She wasn’t attentive but we got our stuff. We did have looks that expressed how unimpressed we were so maybe she avoided us for that reason. My chili relleno which I had been craving and the sole reason I picked this restaurant as it was the only restaurant in the area that had it on the menu, was absolutely gross. It was just greasy cheese and the breading was soggy and not even on the pepper. The beans were slop. This food was garbage. Don’t waste your money. Sorry really wanted to like it but had to come on here so that others didn’t read the other reviews like I did and think this place was ok. It’s not.

If I could give them less than a 1 I would. Least authentic Mexican food we have had. Place smelt very moldy and food was very bland. Don’t come here. Only good thing about the place was our waiter.

Hidden gem! Happy hour prices all day every day ( $3.75 for wine). Exceptional food and service, not to mention the best outdoor patio anywhere. If it sounds to good to be true go check it out for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.

Tonight we stopped in after my son's DCFC soccer practice. The Golden Margarita on the rocks was SO refreshing after a long day of work. We sat in the outdoor "garden" and were lucky enough to meet the owner and talk about being business owners and plants! We will be back. My husband and I really enjoyed our meal.
