Drew was such an amazing server. The owner Annie is fantastic and truly cares about the guests and the restaurant. Best service, best food, best ambiance for an authentic Italian dinner.

Exceptional experiences always. Food and service during my most recent visit were amazing. Da Edouardo is a GP institution that never disappoints. We’ve held several family gatherings, business meeting/meals there and will continue to do so because it is the best.

Terrible service. Ruined what could have been a nice evening out. Never returned with requested basics, i.e. water. One of our chairs would only fit if sat at an angle. No acknowledgment at the end, just threw our bill at us while he took a bar order from the adjacent table.

I was hoping for truly authentic Italian food, but 3 out of 4 dishes didn’t fully meet our expectations. I grew up with an Italian grandma, so I’m a bit picky when it comes to Italian cuisine.
We tried three veal dishes — the meat was tender, but the lemon flavor was too strong and the Marsala was a bit bland.
On the positive side, the bruschetta and charbroiled steak were delicious, and the tiramisu was excellent. Service wasn’t unfriendly, just a bit rushed, and for the price we honestly expected more.

I made a reservation for my husband’s birthday (15 people) and they only allowed me to bring a cake if I pay a “cutting fee”, I explained I can cut the cake myself, no big deal, but she explained they sell desserts and they charge to cut it. I have been to restaurants all over MI, CA, FL and NY and this is the first time I encounter this “cutting cake fee”. The fee is not standard, but per person. The torte I was bringing costs $70 and the cake cutting “fee” would have been almost the same price of the cake, on top of this I’ll have to tip the server over 20% because of the size of the party which I don’t mind, but this is absolutely unethical and dishonest. I inquired if they sell full size cakes and they do not, other than carrot cake which nobody likes. The conversations with the staff during reservation and then a second call regarding the cake were unpleasant and staff was very condescending. Imagine being a customer and they try to make you feel like they are doing you a favor for letting you come to their restaurant to spend your own money.

Food was delicious, service was great, venue is nice and intimate, however, they charge extra for everything...$8 to split a plate, $4 for the sauce for calamari, $21 to plate dessert that we brought, $1.50 for hot water....then they add 20% tip (on the inflated bill) for groups of more than 6 and ask if you want to add more. We were shocked when we received the bill. I won't be back...

Food was really good. However, don't get a cocktail on the rocks if you're not prepared to pay and extra $2.00 for ice cubes. This is asinine, as ice cubes are always available and should be affordable. Come on Da Eduardo, you've now become petty.

My husband and I have dined at Da Edoardo many times, and the food is always phenomenal. We are huge fans of the minestrone soup and the calamari , both are absolutely delicious. The staff is consistently friendly and welcoming. We once had the pleasure of meeting the owner at the Detroit location, and he was a very kind and personable gentleman. Even though we’ve moved away from the area, Da Edoardo will always be one of our top restaurants, and we always look forward to going back whenever we can.
