My family & I very much love & appreciate the small locally owned & operated ‘Birch Tree Bakery & Café’ located right on Main St. in downtown Harbor Springs, MI. Their handmade bakery goods and other goodies are made fresh daily, sometimes hourly, are always delicious and you can tell they take great pride in only offering the very best they can.
We have ordered ‘Yule log’ otherwise known as ‘Bûche de Noël’, Christmas cake several times, including this year & they are always delicious and very well received by our Christmas guests!
They use locally sourced ingredients where they can and always seem to have a lively, fun, yet relaxed atmosphere of locals and seasonal guests either stopping by for an excellent cop of coffee & a treat or maybe lingering for a while enjoy a breakfast treat or sandwich and while hopping onto the Internet to check of email via their Wi-Fi network.
You are always greeted with a friendly ‘Welcome’ or ‘Hello, we’ll be right with you.’ if they are busy and you always feel welcome even if it’s your first time!
We loved everything we’ve tried including their artesian breads, pastries, cookies, Pecan Rolls (so good when they’ve just come out of the oven!!) as well as their made-to-order cakes, which are amazing!!
Highly recommended & we love supporting locally owned & operated businesses & this one is definitely worth supporting!

Birch Tree Bakery recently made desserts for our wedding reception. We had brownies, chocolate chip cookies, pumpkin bars with cream cheese frosting, and lemon bars. Our guests raved about all of them, especially the lemon bars!
Wonderful little breakfast shop! Delicious coffee drinks and breakfast burritos!! Keep up the good work!!!
Limited items available. We were there for breakfast. We ordered a burrito and an egg and cheese sandwich. The burrito was terrible, could not eat it, and the sandwich looked like it was made by 12 year old. Very expensive. We did not try the baked goods.

Excellent food (sausage burrito and sandwich). No time-of-day restrictions on breakfast menu. Great staff and a killer latte to top it off. Go.

The girl said it was almond milk, I ended up with severe food poisoning as a result. Stabbing stomach pains, barfing and nearly passing out. The ER's were full so I suffered at home. Maybe she just told me it was almond milk but perhaps it was dairy - some people don't care or realize that food allergies can be deadly and if this is the case then shame on her!
Great breakfast before stick and pick bud, will come again !
