“Vernales was absolutely incredible to work with for our wedding. They helped us design a custom menu that perfectly reflected what we wanted: fresh, local produce with a light nod to New Orleans (where the groom and many guests were from) — all while celebrating Northern Michigan. They were flexible, responsive, and accommodating with nearly every request we had, making the planning process feel seamless.
Our guests are still raving about the food and service. One table even told us a server brought them all a mini plate of the kids’ meal because it looked so good — such a thoughtful touch that really speaks to the staff’s attentiveness. The late-night snacks came out hot and delicious, the bartenders were friendly, and there was never a line at the bar thanks to how efficient the service was.
If you’re planning a wedding or event, I can’t recommend Vernales highly enough. They made the entire experience easy, joyful, and delicious from start to finish.“

“My wife and I stopped in there this morning to get some donuts for breakfast. They were super tasty and definitely could tell that they were “homemade”. Betty was super friendly at the counter. We will definitely stop by there again.“

“Okay, first time here. Restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere and the wait staff seems very friendly and helpful. Ordered the spinach and artichoke dip which was very tasty and the seafood Chowder was amazing. But the Walleye was tasteless. If it wasn't for the mashed potatoes and carrots you wouldn't know it was there. Daughter ordered Lobster Carbonara and it was almost tasteless and lobster was over cooked and a bit rubbery. Chef in my opinion needs to taste his creations before sending them out of the kitchen. Also please change the music, fine dining and 70s Disco/ Rock & Roll do not pair well.“
