Fish sandwich special today disappointing. Pictured fish sandwich with with lettuce and tomato on bun. When purchasing, tartar sauce was optional of which I wanted. When I got the sandwich, the tomato and lettuce was on the side and the fish was over fried. The crust was very hard and difficult to eat. I will not order again. Service was good as usual. Cook staff need some retraining.

Got a 12in pizza and it was absolutely delicious- be prepared to wait because it’s made fresh about 15-20minutes, it was a little cheese heavy for our taste but good otherwiseWe also bought a couple sauces ranch, marinara, and cheese, they were bigger than expected they were 3.25oz instead of the usual 1.5oz most places give— the cheese wasn’t a cheese sauce but more of a cream cheese dip and it was absolutely delicious with a nice spice— it was pretty busy in there but still overall nice experience

Save your money & go somewhere you actually have a chance winning! This is the tightest casino you'll ever walk into. They have 100 new machines because there's literally no chance of winning. The most resent visit we lost $1000. Didn't win anything. We'll never go back.
Went for a little weekend getaway and was pleasantly surprised. Based on reviews I had been seeing, I really didn't expect much, but felt the need to add a good one. We ended up in a standard room that was in the tower where you needed to walk through the casino to get to the elevator. That was the only inconvenience regarding the room. The room was clean, very nicely furnished and done tastefully. We did have a window, but ours faced the casino. So be warned, if you have this type of room, you may want to keep the curtains closed.....or not. I'm not here to judge. We ate at 3 of the restaurants and were pleased with the quality and cost of the meals. The breakfasts were very good, the snack bar off the casino was way better than I expected and the steakhouse was better than many I have experienced. We are not regular gamblers, but did use the casino for several hours each day. It may help that we won a little, but did enjoy the casino. It was clean seemed to be well run. We did have to wait for table seats a few times at peak times, but not too long. Some of the dealers could have been more personable, but I'm sure most businesses can't be too picky these days. All in all, it was a great experience and will go back again.
My experience was probably non-typical. It started with misinformation. I called and made a reservation and was told the Club members area would be open when I arrived at 4am. (It doesn't open until 8am) I was assisted by a very informed and kind night shift hotel person. She was amazing! When he shift ended I was passed off to April I assume the first shift supervisor. April was also very informed and courteous. She was able to accommodate a special request. There were 4 people at the hotel desk area. On May 11th... April would be in the first seat going from right to left. Seated in the 3rd chair (right to left) was the most beautiful smile I had ever seen. Her face...angelic. I would return just on the chance she would be there. It's the small things that you remember and make you feel good. For instance I was in 204 and the staff knew my room and name. I felt like I had special treatment. The slots on the otherhand, well...losing 2000 in 2 hours stinks but I figured out what does work and though I did not break even I played the next 1000 for 4 hours. Meal options are really good covering a wide range of tastes. The suite, was very very nice. The blackout curtains were perfect for daytime sleeping. The suite was clean and the water hot. The bed was not what I prefer for hardness but was still comfortable. The adult pool area was amazing. The highlight, of course, was the angelic blond smile seated 3 from the right. The cons are I think and considering I throw away money daily at casinos that the slots are too tight here at Island Resort.
The hotel is actually two hotels. An older hotel at the back of the casino and and then a newer hotel with pool and spa . They are not connected in any way and are at opposite ends of casino. The desk staff informed me you would have to walk thru the casino floor in you our swimsuit and flip flops to use the pool and spa if you are in the old hotel rooms or change in a bathroom at the pool. Same room pricing in old and new parts. None of this was mentioned in website. This pretty much ruined my stay there. Staff not helpful at all.
The room had a nice view and was partially clean. The room amenities list 'refrigerator' and all our friends rooms had one (8 rooms reserved) but our room did not. A sign in the elevator showed our floor did not have an ice machine so I would be going to a different floor for ice since we did not have a fridge. When reserving I requested South Palm tower because all our friends were there and girl on the reservation phone confirmed "yes, I have you in the south tower". Arrival - our room was in the North tower (and surprise - no fridge). My low rating is because I talked to the manager about paying the same amount for the room as everyone else (that have fridges) and the inconvenience and I got absolutely zero empathy, too bad (attitude), not sorry. The manager told me none of the rooms in our area had refrigerators yet when I passed by the room next to ours (open door from cleaning lady), there it was - a fridge. She did say they would have a room in the old tower the following day (so another night hauling ice then pack up everything and move it...yet another inconvenience). Frustrated, I checked out the next morning. Repeat customers is not their thing even though studies show repeat customers buy more and spend more.
Restaurantji Recommends
This casino isn't the best place to get good food as it's more in the line a place not to go.
I won't say much about the overall property but I will say a picture tells a thousand words. There is simply NO reason to let a property as new as the Island Resort fall into disrepair and ruin so quickly. It doesn't take much to clean. Soap is the least expensive tool available to a property and apparently the Island has overlooked this simple necessity. In my photos you will see how the carpets look in the room they provide their guests. *I have photos to upload but this site just fails on the upload every time I try.
Pretty good for casino food
We stayed overnight at this casino. Check in was friendly and helpful. Casino overall very clean. We had fun and or room was very nice. Would definitely recommend giving them a try. We would go back next time in the area....................
We totally enjoyed this casino, hotel and dining facilities. The staff at the hotel check-in was super helpful and accommodating. The hotel lobby welcomed us with the wonderful scent of vanilla coming from the candles for sale in the Gift Shop across the lobby. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the 12th floor Horizon Steakhouse with awesome views. Our room had all the amenities expected at a top rated hotel. We were surprised at the size of the gambling floor which offered many new and fun slots. We completed our visit with a wonderful breakfast in the Firekeepers Restaurant. Looking forward to returning.
