Not impressed. To order food, you need to stand in line at bar whether you want food or just a drink. They don’t take orders at tables. Husband got pork sandwich but it came with no bbq sauce and non available. I got a meatball sandwich on toasted bun but bun wasn’t toasted. No napkins at tables. They are around but shared so you have to get up and get one. If this is the direction of restaurants today, time to get rid of the tipping.

54 minutes to get an order of wings and waffle fries. Inexcusable. When four guys from the same group walk up together and three of the four get their food in the first 20 minutes - we have a problem. Will not be going back there anytime soon
Waited forever for food, quality was ok for our order, friends that ordered directly behind us got their food 23 minutes after ours and theirs was ice cold. Poor service poor set up and poor quality. Definitely do not recommend. Very very bad service for a place you have to pre-leave a tip to. And no follow up service.
They are charging for a 1/2 pound burger that is false advertising not even close

I do think it makes no sense that you are charged for fountain drinks here when throughout the casino they are free.
Food was terrible, waffle fries which were so grease logged after waiting over an hour.

Wanted to thank the house keeping staff for finding our iPad we left in the room by mistake. We did not realize we had forgotten it until about 3 hours away. Also we had crossed into Canada and our cell phone coverage was very good. But a nice person, her name is Kelly was persistent in trying to contact us. The staff had found our lost item and asked for our home address so they could ship it back to us. It was our mistake that we forgot the iPad but was nice to see that she went the extra effort to assure us they had and would get it back to us. A few days later it arrived at our house, cannot say how happy to have it back and also to a staff member that went beyond what one would expect to get it back to us, Kelly thanks again.
No regular bartender on, Staff are taking food orders with drink orders. Waited in line over 10 minutes just to get a cocktail due to food orders being taken.

We stayed here while attending a convention in Escanaba. Plenty of parking, easy check in, prompt elevators and active doormen periodically. We did not visit the casino or the bingo hall or eat any meals at the facility. The beds were very comfortable, housekeeping was on request, the air conditioning worked well and in our case, the ice machine was nearby. The staff was friendly. We had no complaints about our room or the service at this facility. Our room was in the tower to the left of the hotel entrance on the 8th floor.

This is a casino, not a resort. On top of this, a casino where you are not allowed to have fun. They have only one blackjack table running and will tell you to quiet down when you have too much fun. It is in the middle of nowhere and they lock you in to spending money on everything through them. They have no hosts that will help you and check on you. Do not expect anyone to ask you how your stay is going. 0/10 this is a money scam.
We have been here 3-4 times in the last two years. The entire staff has always been extremely friendly even maintanence workers passing in the hall way always greet us. The casino is great for the casual gambler as they have many machines that the max bet is $4.00 or less which is s nice change. The rooms in the south tower are updated hopefully someday they will all be updated. We added a day to our stay and had to move rooms from a south tower room to a room in the North tower. No refrigerator or microwave in the north tower rooms was a little disappointing. We were there on a Sunday thru Weds so with the exception of Sunday the only food option after noon is the cafeteria style restaurant. It would be nice if the sports bar served food everyday.
Visited to play golf as part of a stay and play package. Some things were great, but there were some downsides which prevented me from giving more than 3 stars: - Staff was very friendly and accommodating, place is very clean - You can gamble for reasonable amounts, table games were generally 5 $ minimum - Food and drink were reasonable, had a cocktail for $4 Downsides, this place has staff shortages - No daily room cleaning - Bar and grill only has food service Wednesday through Sunday - Casino can’t staff tables due to lack of dealers. Be prepared to drive to Escanaba, about 20 minutes away to dine in some nice restaurants. But all said we enjoyed the trip and the golf was great.
Island Resort & Casino is pretty much in the middle of nowhere. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside the resort & casino are quite nice. Check-in went smoothly and the individual checking us in was very friendly. Our room was on the top floor and had a view of the parking lot. The room itself was clean and had two recliners in it which was a first in a hotel room for us. We didn't have a mini fridge or safe in the room, which seemed odd as these tend to be standard. I had terrible allergies while staying in this room. It was also extremely cold in the hotel; they had the air conditioning on full blast. That being said, this was probably the quietest hotel room I've ever been in and the bed was very comfortable. The casino itself isn't super big, but big enough. They have a great selection of slot machines, as well as table games. Unfortunately, they do not offer free play to new card members. They offered $5 if you used the app but it didn't work. And the machines didn't even payout enough to keep playing, let alone to win. I've never been to a casino that didn't pay out at all, but this was it. We travel to a lot of different casinos and this one just didn't do it for us. We don't go in expecting to win, but we do hope to be able to play a bit without breaking the bank and that was just not the case here. Island Resort & Casino just isn't anything special and if it's a drive for you as it was for us, it's definitely not worth the trip. We won't be returning.
We booked our room weeks in advance. When I booked it I told the woman making our reservation that we were meeting friends and asked if we could be near them. She said she would at least try to put us on the same floor. When we checked in, we were told that we could only stay in our room for one night and then we'd have to move the next day but not to worry because we could keep our room until our new room was ready. I tried getting a reasonable explanation out of her as to why we had to move but she had none. As it turned out we got adjoining rooms with our friends. We went to bed in the early morning hours. Not long after, the front desk called and woke us up and told us we had to move out if our room. We tried again to stay where we were but the woman insisted we had to leave. So, we got dressed and packed up our stuff onto a luggage cart. My husband went down to the front desk to check us into our new room. While he was down there the woman who my husband was switching our rooms with called me and told me I need to vacate that room so they could clean it. I told her I was waiting for my husband to return. She told me he was still there and that I should just meet him down there. I asked where our new room was and was told it was in a different tower on the opposite side of the casino. I told her we were there with our friends we hadn't seen in a long time and we didn't want to be that far away from them but she insisted I leave so I asked to talk to a manager. The manager said that her screen showed we were supposed to stay in the same room both nights and not check out until the next morning. I told her thats not what the front desk is doing. She told me just to stay in the room we were in. I told her we were already checked into the other room and we no longer had keys to our current room. She said they'd bring us our new keys. She brought them up however there was no apology. We were woke up from a dead sleep, had to rush to get ready, packed everything onto the cart, had to go down check out and back in again and the we had to unpack everything once again! After all of this hassle, besides giving us no reasonable explanation or apology, they did even comp us for being treated so poorly. No discount on the room, no free play, not even a free drink!! I felt after all they put us through they would have comped us something. Nope. It was our first time there and last. You get nothing from the casino either for being a new customer, no free play like you do at most casinos, nothing. And you have to play hundreds of dollars before you even get $5.00 in free play. The people in the snack bar/restaurant are not friendly, one man was downright rude. They made us feel like we were bothering them ordering food. All around not a good experience and a huge waste of money. Their machines are awful and rarely pay out. I will never throw my money away there again. Worst hotel and casino experience ever!!!
