My family and I waited an hour and a half while everyone else was being seated and served. Meanwhile, we were told that nobody could take orders for another ten minutes, and we agreed. However, the waitress seemed to forget our table and never put our order in. People around us, who arrived a good hour after us, were being served while we stayed quiet. After we finally got our order, the table next to us commented, “Didn’t you guys get here an hour before us?” We confirmed that we did. When our food was delivered, the waitress asked if we needed anything. I mentioned that our kids’ food should be covered due to the terrible service. She told us to talk to the manager, and I insisted she bring the manager to us. When the manager arrived, she yelled at me for complaining and accused me of mistreating her server. She claimed the other customers who noticed the issue were drunk and didn't know what they were talking about. Shocked, I stood up and told my family that we were leaving. The manager shouted at us to leave and then grabbed my arm, twisted the skin, and broke blood vessels. Other people were shocked! I pushed her off and left with my kids. My husband told the manager she was wrong, but she kept insisting that all the customers were drunk. It was a scary situation. Don't go here at all. Or go to drink, but be careful…. And don’t bring kids at all. Not safe!!! Not safe at all when a waitress can put her hands on someone and it’s okay! The bouncers let her do whatever… super scary.
Madison Mondays are the best such a great staff and service they provide. Some great times and great place to meet friends!!
Great atmosphere and food!
great views, staff and food.
Met up with family on a weekday to enjoy the sounds of On The Border while grabbing a fast dinner at Browns on Harsen’s Island, Michigan, which was established in 1946. Took a quick ferry to the island and then straight to Browns. The band was fabulous rocking the tunes of the ‘70s and ‘80s, especially loved hearing nostalgic songs from America. The relaxed atmosphere along the water was an ideal place to meet. The group dined on taco salad, quesadillas, and other deliciousness. We’ll be back again.
Good food, great location, and super nice staff!!
No social distancing. No masks on anyone, customers or employees. Packed full; ignoring mandated capacity limits. We had planned to get takeout, but we just left.
In spite of the high water causing the docks to go under, porta potties in use and a soggy lot, they were still going strong. The food was not bad. The Mac and cheese with fries was quite good. Loved the view and being on the water. Went twice this trip to the island and had great service both times. Music was a bit loud but given the crowd it was understandable.
The best dive on Harsens Island!
I thought this to be a great place to go as a boater. Food right on the water. Drinks almost at the boat. Lots of variety. Had a weird mac and cheese and some fries. Beer at reasonable price. I did not even wear shows? A bit slow but understandably as it was very busy, and the docks out front busy. In the end, all very good with even better people and boat watching.
