Had a great meal and great service until we went to cash out. They have signs outside and at every table promoting gift card specials. Buy $50 get $20. So I asked to purchase these. The owner said I could but cant use them until March or April due to the economy. I said ok ill just pay for the $50 gift card then. He said the same thing. Doesnt make sense because im paying upfront for it. He then got very angry and loud and began ranting about how Trump is the reason he cant do the gift card specials. Trump is ruining him. And he went on and on. Was told by an employee that he does this to everyone. U r drowning your business sir. Not Trump. With behavior like this I dont expect his place of business to b around much longer. Also dont promote false specials. They were going to b christmas presents. But now none of my family or friends will ever set foot in this establishment again.

Had a great meal at Mexican connection. Had the 3 meat fajita. Food was great service was very good. Only negative feedback would be it was noisy as the building is small and it was full that day. The food came out incredibly fast after we ordered

Polite fresh hot meals every time I’ve been
I had a delicious wet burrito. The chips and salsa both taste like they're home made.

So disappointing. ..the food was bland at best...years ago it was very good. I ordered chicken fajitas expected flavorful grilled meat with fresh grilled peppers and onions like they used to serve instead I received frozen vegetables with chicken chunks...absolutely no seasoning on any of it....everything looked steamed not grilled at all. Each to their own and lord knows restaurants are getting scarce in Hastings but this ranks 1 star just because it was still edible not delicious.
Where do you start for a review of the Mexican connection? They’ve been a staple of this community for a long time. Their food is excellent and their services choice is good. I always feel like family coming into the store. Their menu was full. Your belly is even fuller when you leave.
awesome food best we ve had . friendly n our favorite place
Foods good.
Food was good. Charged extra for chips and salsa and was not informed about it beforehand. Simple communication.

Cute restaurant with super friendly and attentive service. The food was delicious! Even the sides that came with my dinner were so tasty! Definitely plan to go back.
Please note: cash is preferred, though cards are accepted.
Food was horribly prepared, fajtas burnt and stuck to the skillet and the small portion for the price was mostly onions and peppers and maybe 2 ounces of meat total between the shrimp, chicken and beef. The chicken was out of a bag frozen kind with fake grill marks. No seasoning in anything except the guacamole which was too over salted to eat. The server forgot half of the sides that went with the fajita. It was lunch time and they weren't busy. She was just too busy talking to her buddies in the back and acted like we were an annoyance by being there. She didn't check on us one time and we had to ask her to get the rest of our food. Everyone in hastings loves this place but it's the third time I've given it another chance and every time has been worse than the last. This was the last which is unfortunate because I always try to support my local small town businesses over chains.
Amazing food, and even better service! I had mistakenly left behind my Invisalign, and the staff went above and beyond to help me find them. I am so grateful! Highly recommend this restaurant for a great lunch.
The food here is not authentic. The salsa is jarred. We were given one tiny bowl (smaller than a cereal-sized) of chips for a table of 4 people. A refill of chips was not offered. The chicken fajita meat has fake grill marks (previously frozen) and the meat and vegetables were not seasoned. There were only a scant amount of vegetables on the skillet. It didn't come with a side of rice and beans, like other Mexican restaurants when you order a fajita dinner. The food was okay if you are satisfied with the kind of Mexican food you can order at an American diner. The fajitas were overpriced at $14.99 without sides.
