I just want to share that last Friday me and my fiancé got some engagement photos done inside Blackthorn Pub - as this was somewhere we used to go on dates - and the staff was absolutely amazing! The bartender (forgive me, I don't know his name - long beard?) was incredible! He was very accommodating and friendly - even picked up our beer tab! It just further solidified why Blackthorn is one of our go to spots - I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend checking them out.

I will admit, they turned this place around. I haven't been here in a few years and I do live locally. Last time I visited the service was really slow, so slow that we sat at a table for 15 minutes before being greeted. The food took another 30 minutes to arrive and we didn't see the waiter again until it was time for the check. However, this time was a 180. We were sat and greeted in less than two minutes, the food arrived six minutes later. Whoever is in charge now knows how a pub restaurant should be ran. Because of this, I'm going back again next week. As far as the food, I have always liked the quality, amount and taste of the food, even from before. I would recommend this place once again. When you're deciding where to eat, don't expect a quiet evening out if you're going here, it's a pretty noisy place. The prices are on par for a pub so it won't break the bank.
I had a garden salad with blackened chicken and my son had a beet sandwich - both DELICIOUS! His green beans side dish was unique and scrumptious. I even recommended our meals to customers walking in as we left. Warm atmosphere and really nice staff. We will be going back frequently!

The food never disappoints! Always very good. Our server was pulled in many directions and probably did the best she could. She wasn't very friendly and her service was just okay. As for the atmosphere, it is hard to visit with the other people in your party because it is so loud.

I chatted with the owner while I ate my lunch here today. I got a blackthorn salad with rare steak and a side order if fries. Amazing as always. He is a very kind and thorough person. As always the food here is great. I like that the menu is diverse and elevated yet not pretentious. The space is very clean and well maintained. It appears that he has a company come out to swap out his rugs and kitchen towels etc for clean ones which is nice to see. I don’t know if that is normal but I do know that rugs gross me out and I’ve been to quite a few places that are generally sticky. Blackthorn is clean, delicious, and attentive.

About a 3.5 overall for this experience. Which is not bad at all, but the service dragged it down. The Fish and Chips were pretty good. There are a few other things on the menu that I would like to try, a couple of them I would have to split with a friend.
