Camping in Manistee, Mi, decided to drive to Benzonia and dine at Upriver Pizza, great reviews, great choices and they have entertainment on given days. Took us 30 min to get there, who cares, on vacation. Located in a small shopping mall, plenty of parking. Walked in and we were greeted by the nicest employees, sit wherever we want. Nice large bar to sit at and drink a cold one, order food off their menu, or, wait for a carry out. You decide what you want and order at the bar. Drinks were delivered to your table. Casual place, very popular with the locals. Ordered Caesar salad and large Meat lovers pizza. Delicious salad with tasty dressing, yum! Pizza arrived, it was LARGE!!!, generous amount of cheese and toppings, just delicious, piping hot, waitress took good care of us. Very pleased with our dinner. They have a very busy carry out service, I can see why, delicious food, generous portions. Prices were comparable to other places. Come try this Upriver Place, Excellent pizza, friendly employees, will return next time we come to Manistee. Debbie 🍕🍕

Finally Found It – Lower Michigan’s Best Pizza at Upriver!
Traveling from Florida and trying over 30 different pizzerias across the rust belt, I’ve finally struck gold at Upriver Pizza. Their delicious homemade sourdough sets them apart – perfectly chewy, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Every bite reflects quality and passion. A must-visit for any true Czars of pizza connoisseurs!

Stopped in at the end of a road trip on the way home. Unassuming storefront in a strip mall, but they had made an effort to decorate inside. Got a couple premade pinwheels to eat quickly, and they were delicious. Very friendly staff, interesting menu (apparently they have won some awards) and good beer selection.

I never write reviews but this may be one of the worst pizza I've ever ate. We ordered a Detroit style deep dish pizza, there was absolutely no structure to the pizza. The excessive cheese not only caused it to be disgustingly greasy but it had completely ooozed off the sides. To make matters worse, there was virtually no sauce. The pizza wasn't even cut to the bottom. I was really excited for this pizza based on pictures and reviews but it was horrible. We must have just been unlucky.
