We went on a Monday and it was pretty quiet inside. We were glad they were open though as many restaurants in the area are closed on Mondays. The food was delicious and the service was very friendly. They were having freezer problems so most of the desserts were unavailable but the server made sure we left happy. We'll definitely be back!

We used to love this restaurant but on our last visit, the food was mediocre at best. I hope that was just 1 bad night.

Food was good but extremely overpriced. Meals did not come with soup or salad, that had to be added on Ala carte. The vibe was extremely dated and drab.

Highly recommend Bologna Trattoria! The food and service has always been excellent. I'd been to Joe Balogna's restaurant in Sterling Heights many years ago (loved it!), so I was glad to see this restaurant (owned by same family) near me. Love this place!

I absolutely love the food, service and the atmosphere. For a picky eater like myself I love the option to make my own pasta.

I'm sure the locals already know this place is a hidden little gem! My wife and I were looking for a cute place to dine before a concert nearby, and the reviews compelled us to try Bologna Trattoria... and we were ecstatic we did. From the hostess who sat us at the quaint bar, to the bartender/miracle worker, to the ambience and then of course the exquisite food. It's almost an hour from our house, but actually very much worth the drive... but if you live closer or in the area already, it's a no brainer!
Well done,
Mark

Warning:Drink Your Wine At Home Before Going Here
Went with family after getting back in town, and have been here a few times a few years ago.
Ordered 3 glasses of HOUSE wines to go with the meal. Wine was fine, but when we received our bills I noticed a $19 charge for the HOUSE Chardonnay, $17 for a HOUSE Cabernet and $17 for the HOUSE Chianti. You notice I capped the word house, usually a house wine is usually anywhere from $6-$10 on the high side at most good Italian restaurants. I mentioned to our server the prices and it looked like she knew what I was talking about and immediately offered free Cannolis to us. I asked for the manager, and she returned with the owner, guessing son of the owner. I told him that the owner of the most expensive Italian restaurant in metro Detroit area (name starts with a A) does not charge $19 for a glass of HOUSE wine.
His answer to me, quote“ JV does not have a restaurant in Clarkston”. Wrong Answer.
Now to his defense, our pours were 8oz not 5 oz. But we we just asked for a glass of HOUSE wine. We were not offered any pour options when ordering. So that begs the question, how much is the 5oz pour? $12,$13 or $14? Total rip-off.
Thus my warning for ordering wine here, drink at home first. Food was just okay, not outstanding. But the free Cannolis were not great, not sweet enough and actually a gritty texture.

Food is fantastic, the service is great, and there are great drink choices. The wine selection is really good and the beer selection includes Peroni and Moretti

I love the atmosphere in this restaurant. It is so cozy and comfortable and quiet. Romance is in the air. The food is an example of the best Italian fair that you can ask for. The melanzana rollentini and Nanna 's meatballs brought me back a little village near Tucany. The Traverse City Chicken is to die for. You can not go wrong if you order the Cheese Ravioli. Chef Joe is the epitome of the excellent host.
