Michael's Tavern & Steakhouse

The hostess was very nice. Our waiter was very pleasant and helpful. The food was amazing!!!! We can't wait to go back.

Michael's did not disappoint us. We had heard so many good things about this restaurant, we decided to give it a try. Several of us had steak and were impressed by how well they were prepared and tasted. Another member of our party had the salmon and also enjoyed their meal. Our waiter was pleasant, knowledgeable and attentive. As a caution, we cannot recommend dessert. We shared the chocolate cake and Oreo donut desserts. Both were a disappointment. We will definitely return again and highly recommend this restaurant.

The quality of the food is amazing. The dishes are layered and complex. The braised short rib is an absolute grand slam!

I'm sorry to say I was greatly disappointed. Ordered an espresso martini, which was basically cold coffee with a shot of vodka in it. The one thing I went for was short rib tacos and were not available so ordered a pork chop, which came raw on the inside. The beet salad had two little pieces of beets in the entire salad with very very little goat cheese crumbles on top. No need to call it a beet salad if there's no beets. I did mention to the waiter that it was probably the worst martini I've ever had and my pork chop was raw and showed it to them on the inside yet there was no offer to cook it again. Bring me something else or any other apology. Oh I'm sorry I forgot. He said he'd bring me a dessert on the house . The cost of the bill was extremely high for poor quality food and drink. 

The menu and the food were great! Servers were attentive and acknowledged our anniversary. Dessert was free and delicious! I love the ambiance...nice beautiful sound barriers between tables. We will plan to go back there more often since we live in the area.

Great food and service a gem in northern Michigan. A nice place to get a little dressed up and enjoy a great experience!

First time trying this restaurant but will definitely come back. Food was outstanding and server was great. We had a wonderful birthday celebration.

Our dining experience was excellent and our waiter Gerhardt was exceptional. The only thing we were a little disappointed in was it was our 50th wedding anniversary (you asked when I made my reservation if we were celebrating anything)and Gerhardt greeted us and congratulated us but we thought maybe we would of received a free desert to celebrate. Because we have dined in the past for my birthday and received a free desert .

The flower beds were immaculate. They seated us quickly, they were out of short rib tacos. Steak was alright and. pricey. Fries were burnt. Our table was in the main walk way between the kitchen and patio so we were constantly squeezing to let servers by. Taking a two seater table for walking room would be much smarter than four tables getting bumped every two minutes

Every summer when we visit our cottage we always have to dine at Michael’s. It’s a gem in Indian River, the best steak without a doubt.
