Wow - where to start. We went with friends for a weekend who are avid skiers and my family and I have never tried. So we took lessons with Betsy - phenomenal! Sent our son to skiwee class, and then back for a second because he loved it so much. Beyond loving this new to us sport, the staff at ski Brule is top notch. They remembered us all weekend - no matter what area they were working in. They were so friendly, fun and patient. The skiwee teachers are just incredible (with all the patience and knowledge!) We did the homestead bbq and it was beyond our expectations. From the shuttle to the sleigh, to the fire pit gathering and the food - what a unique experience into end the day. This was one of my favorite weekends ever as a family and we can’t wait to go back.
Thank you for the wonderful skiing NYE!
We took our 5 year old, Charlie, to ski brule for the first time in January and they recommended putting her in their “ski wee” program and we are so happy that we did because she absolutely loved it! They had her on gentle Ben independently the first day and skiing around cones by the 2nd session. After about 4 ski wee sessions they said she was ready for a 1:1 lesson. She didn’t want to do the 1:1 so instead I just took her to the bunny hill and skied with her for the next several weekends. She got really comfortable on the bunny hill and then this past Easter Sunday she was ready to try the chairlift! Not only did she master the chairlift with ease, she also conquered maple syrup over 5x and homestead twice! She is officially a snow skier and we would like to thank all the staff at ski brule for helping make it a success for her! Thanks to all her “ski wee” teachers, the rental ski workers, the lift guys, and the lodge staff! Special shout out to Kyle at rental’s and Sara at ski wee! Sara you went above and beyond to make Charlie feel supported through this whole journey! All the extra efforts you made helped give her the confidence she needed to achieve her goals! Thank you ski Brule! We got season passes for next year so we will ski you very soon!!
We were really excited for breakfast only to learn they don’t do it anymore even though it’s advertised. If we knew we would have eaten elsewhere super disappointed
My family planned this vacation for after Christmas when we got here i thought it looked cool, especially because of the hot tub. But it sucks here 350+ dollars a night for a mouse infested place. I can't sleep because of how terrible the bedding is, the fireplace is covered up why even have one if it's unusable? The dishes are barely clean. The only thing decent about this place are the nice people.
Went for NYE awhile back (to the restaurant, not sure if that is the same as the cafe) - views are great with the torch parade and the inside is fairly cozy if not perfectly kept up. Food was very mediocre. Talked to some interesting people including Nick Baumgartner’s mom which was a highlight. Not overly impressed by service or management, but it was fun.
very nice ski resort I enjoy fireing up the big Bear chair lift big up the mountain department.
My three children and I have been going to Ski Brule for decades now and until this year I had not realized how truly wonderful and special the time with family is and how badly we miss this place for families like ours. My youngest is soon to be in college and the thought of not spending these weekends skiing with him is a hard pill to swallow so we hope and prey things get back to normal soon. Although we can not go out west every weekend we will be headed back to Vail but for only a few days of skiing but honestly Ski Brule just has a way of making weekends special for families. This is certainly a blessed place!
Well we understand that this is a winter resort, But if your going to open it up to guest in the summer you should make sure to clean it up. Not just open the door and tape the key to it. The floor was never sweep our socks were black after just walking from room to room. And the furniture needs major updates.
A huge shout out to Ski Brule staff who did an amazing job today with all the Foxview 6th graders from De Pere WI (~200). From Ski Brule equipment rental staff to instructors to ski patrol and chair lift operators, I saw amazing customer service all day! Kids learning to ski for the first time with patient instructors, getting extra help on/off the lift when they graduated from the bunny hill but were nervous to go up the big hill. There were caring and calm ski patrol staff

I joined a ski club that charters motor coaches to travel to midwestern ski resorts. I signed up for SKi Brule in early January since I had never skied there. I was impressed. We traveled on a Tuesday and just about had the resort to ourselves. We had about 26 skiers. They have a nice variety of hills green, blue, and black. With 2 sides of the hill to ski, and the selection of hills, there should be some runs that will please your ability and interest. We have traveled there during the week and find absolutely NO lift lines. The lodge has a good cafeteria, nice ski shop, and large bathrooms. We found the employees to be very cordial and accommodating.
This resort has a great spirit to it. It’s far from civilization, and we appreciated the escape. Staff are friendly, and they have a great bar area with fireplace. Their ski meet was exceptionally well run and a positive experience. We stayed in the Pioneer Lodge, across from the resort. Our unit was very clean. It was a total flashback in decor, however. The flooring appears newer but the furniture, vanity, and kitchen are vintage. I haven’t seen such an old school patterned bedspread since my childhood. If the unit had been near a big city, the rating would be lower. We have different expectations in a rural setting, and it was a fun, inexpensive stay. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. My advice is to find a designer to update the bedspreads/curtains and redo the sponge paint areas. This resort shines as a whole, and a little rural charm in the lodging would go a long way.
Alright, usually I don’t write reviews like this but Ski Brule should legally not be able to provide lodging for future customers. My boyfriend and I are from southeast Wisconsin. We planned a snowmobiling and snowboarding trip a month prior to our stay at Ski Brule. (which we have never been) Very sadly enough, My little cousin was found dead in a Chicago hotel and due to the circumstances we were not able to head north for our vacation. I called Ski Brule to ask if they did partial refunds or any other accommodation like moving our vacation dates. They apologized and told me no. Fine. I get that. We then booked again two weeks later and paid full price for three night stay. We got there at 1pm in the afternoon. We were early but the place was DEAD, so we attempted to check in. The guy and lady in the office was very nice. Told us that they still had to do some cleaning and it would be an hour or two. Cool that’s alright, we figured we would go get drinks and food for lunch and check out what they had to offer. We went up stairs to the one lodge bar they had. There was one bartender, she was nice as well. Slow but nice. We got our drinks and ordered some Mac n cheese bites to munch on as we looked at the rest of the menu. As we settle in and are enjoying ourselves and our drinks, we are ready to order food. The bartender comes around with a paper plate with 6 Mac n cheese bites that are COLD also no side of ranch, ketchup, etc... and says I’m sorry but we’re actually closing the kitchen. But was very nice to give us the Mac n cheese bites that were sitting in the cafeteria all day. We did appreciate that because we were hungry. We spent probably a total of 45 minutes before we got a call from the office saying our chalet was ready. Our stay at Hell’s Window When we got to the cabin, we were very excited to get inside. It was a beautiful area and the house seemed to be beautiful as well. When we got inside, we knew right away that the place had not been updated in a long long time. We are clean people, maybe even overly but we were not impressed with the cleanliness whatsoever. Right away we could feel a breeze through the whole place so boyfriend made us a fire. There was no matches. No lighter. Small bundle of wet wood. No newspaper. And the fan worked only on one setting, high. But it didn’t work because the fan made loud banging noise as soon as it was switched to on. We got out of the house and went to get food since we couldn’t get it at Ski Brule. When we got back we made homemade meatloaf and hit the tub and watched tv. Small old old ANCIENT TV. We tried every bed to see what crappy bed we really wanted. We went with the downstairs by the bathroom. As we are falling asleep, we hear dripdripdrip drip drip drip to the right of the bed. Leaking roof. Cool. Catch the sleep we can, wake up in the morning to make breakfast and drink coffee like every other human. Such limited dishes in general but due to making meatloaf the night before I had to wash the dishes we used. There was an old, very old used dish scrubbie. And the only one available. Gross. Wash the dishes, make food, wash the dishes again and go to put them away. There is a DEAD MOUSE laying in the back of the cabinet used to store dishes! Seriously so gross and it smelled so it had to have been there for however long it takes for a dead mouse to stink terriblly. There was no rugs anywhere in the place which made it super slippery when using the hot tub or walking in from the snow. We got snow the day before and a lot of it. We had to go down to the office to get a shovel to shovel the walk way. On the last night of our interesting stay, we were sitting in front of the fire enjoying some tv. The wood stored outside was damp and didn’t have a tarp or anything to prevent the wood getting wet. When we finally got the fire going, it was going. Because no fan and wet wood, so we loaded that baby up. Doing that, not sure if the glass got too hot or if the wood just laid on it inncoerrecly but the glass cracked. We left the place a million times cleaner then when w
Great spot, fine hill, poor WiFi so posting this was difficult, but can’t complain. Very fun weather didn’t cooperate that well, rain Thursday, cold tuning to ice on Friday than single digits Saturday
Great facilities, beautiful scenery. Nice and quiet and very nice staff at the office!
