We enjoyed a delicious breakfast and lunch. Bea our waitress made us feel so welcome. We were on a long trip from Texas and she came out to the car to meet our little dog Lucy and introduced us to her family members.

I hate leaving local places bad reviews, but this place is nasty. We got ice cream. The waitress used her finger to push the ice cream out of the scoop into the bowl (without washing her hands). There was hair in my ice cream. And, it was about the worst quality ice cream I've ever had. 0/5 do not recommend!

Bea treated us like her favorite family members, when in reality we were complete strangers. (Strangers only lasted for 1 minute!) The restaurant was closed, but Bea happened to be unlocking the door as we arrived. She asked us if we were hungry. When we replied 'Yes', she insisted we come in and she'd heat us up a meal in 5-10 mins. Things like this ONLY happen in small towns! The food was yummy, the conversation friendly, and the memories will last a lifetime! Thank you so much for helping make an already fantastic day of hiking in Porcupine Mountains an extraordinarily positive Ironwood experience. We came back for lunch today and the special did not disappoint! Roast beef and mashed potatoes - delicious! Western burger & fries were also great!

My visit to Ben's Place was extremely disappointing. The service was poor, with waitstaff lacking communication both with each other and with customers. I asked a question about a menu item and was told it would come on a tortilla. Our waitress had to ask the other waitress who was also cooking about this menu item, but through both of them we received the wrong answer. The menu item came out on bread, without a side, and was cold. I am confused how the waitress who was cooking messed that up. It took an unacceptably long time for the waitress to return to our table, and when she did, she showed no concern or effort to address our issues. She had the other waitress bring our incorrect food and took no accountability or initiative when we brought up our concerns. The food was cold and unappetizing. To make matters worse, the staff didn’t offer any compensation for the poor experience. We did not ask for compensation because the waitress should have done it regardless. She could tell we did not have a good experience. Overall, I would not recommend this place if you're looking for quality food and service.

Stopped in on Labor Day 2024 and ended up walking in right as they were closing down for the day. They offered to turn the grills and such back on, since it was Labor Day & we probably wouldn't be able to find much else. We graciously stayed, talk about hospitality!! The waitress didn't seem super confident, but she was very friendly and nice! Our orders were only slightly mixed up, but we didn't say anything because it really wasn't a huge deal! Everyone ate every morsel of food--it was delicious!! The proprietor came over and chatted with us for a bit, she was incredibly friendly and hilarious!! We ended up staying nearly 2 hours after their closing time, but no one noticed, no one was cranky, no one said anything! We had no idea and didn't get ANY vibes from the staff kicking us out!
The kids got ice cream afterwards and it was some of the best we've had! We have a local ice cream shop in our hometown, but dare I say the hand scooped ice cream at Ben's Place is better!! The watermelon sherbet has chunks of watermelon in it!! The perfect way to end summer!! If you're looking for yummy food and friendly staff, this is your place!!

Dietary restrictions: My husband and I follow a keto diet (no carbs) and this place has a couple of salad options & omelettes and other egg dishes, so we had options!! (We opted for a salad with grilled chicken & got crispy chicken)

Parking: Street parking, could have problems finding a place close when busy. We had no issues.

Kid-friendliness: They had coloring books and crayons on the table right away. Most of the kids meals were $4!! The kids milks did NOT come with lids, so just be aware!

Stopped in on Labor Day and walked in just as they were closing. They graciously offered to turn the grills back on, saying we'd have a hard time finding food open on Labor Day. Every staff member was incredibly friendly and we ended up staying and chatting for nearly 2 hours after they closed!! Highly recommend if you're looking for good food and quick friends!

Thank you for serving us at the last minute. The food was delicious. It was nice chatting with you also. I love these small town restaurants. They remind me of places my grandparents took me too when I was younger. Thanks for being you.

We had a pizzaburger with tater tots, a bacon cheddar burger with fries, and a chicken bacon salad. Of course we had to have ice cream for desert. All were delicious! Selena was so friendly. We had a great time chatting with her. She made us feel like family.
