Great Ribs and Old Fashions

Great place for a large family get together, small to medium gatherings, special occasion or parties . The Elk & Hound is awesome. The decor is welcoming & comfortable. Great bar and view of the golf course all year around. It was a wonderful place for my daughter’s baby shower. Mike was very accommodating with suggestions for food, decorating and allowing us to set up early. The food was great & my daughter had a memorable baby shower. Thank you!

Poor service, mediocre food, completely incompetent wait staff, and made us sick

First of all, we walk into this restaurant and there’s is old broken kitchen equipment in the waiting room, we proceed to sit in the waiting room for 10 mins before we get seated in a complete empty restaurant by a waitress who reeks of cat piss, We sit down and the waitress forgot to bring us a drink menu so we ask for some and she gives us one for 4 people, she didn’t know the what the specials or the soups were.

We look over the menu and order some appetizers (the appetizers were actually pretty good) and instead of bringing us nachos like we ordered they bring us a taco salad and didn’t realize it until after we started eating, the owner/manager came up to us and instead of giving us the nachos we ordered he tried to convince us that the mix up was ok because the taco salad was pretty good

We finished the appetizers and had to ask the waitress to take our old plates off the table, as we’re waiting for our food 3 more tables come in and ordered, one group of customers brought a non service German shepherd into the restaurant

We were waiting for our food for over an hour meanwhile the other 3 tables ate and left, we were getting fed up and about to leave when our food finally made it to our table after an hour and 20 mins of waiting, the food was very sub par and most of the food was cold, we talked to the manager and explained we were very displeased with our experience at the restaurant and he made up some excuses and discounted our food but I’m warning you to save your time and frustration and just find a different place to eat

Our waitress was completely rude and would go into the kitchen and talk bad about our table, we know for a fact because we could hear her. On top of the she was completely clueless, we would often have to hunt her down for refills and ask her to remove items from our table, the manager was talking to her about her performance and instead of apologizing to us she glared at our party as we were leaving.

About 2 hours after we left we some of the worst diarrhea we have ever had we had to stop 4 times on our way home

If you want to have a terrible dinner in a dusty and dog hair covered restaurant with a stinky, rude and incompetent waitress, and get wild diarrhea, this is the place for you!

Bad service, mediocre food, long wait times, overpriced, dog in restaurant

When we arrived (4 people) the dining room was empty and there was a small party in the back. We waited about 5-10 minutes to be seated.

Our waitress was very rude and disrespectful. We asked what the special was she said she didn’t know, we asked what the soup was and she didn’t know, we asked for a drink menu and she rolled her eyes and brought one over. (Not sure the name of this waitress but she was in her thirties, dark hair and glasses)

For appetizers we ordered cheese curds and nachos. When we got our appetizers they brought out the taco salad instead of the nachos, which was fine we still ate it. Both were good.

We waited over an hour for our food…

A table of two and a table of one came in after us. They ordered after we did.

After the other two tables had been served we asked our waitress how much longer until our food would be out. She told us smaller tables get served first because it doesn’t take as long. Both tables had burgers. Our table ordered 2 salads, whitefish with vegetables, and risotto.

The other two tables had now finished eating and left and we still haven’t gotten our food. Once again we asked our waitress how much longer “it’ll be a few more minutes” so we asked if there was a time frame and she said “no it’ll be a few more minutes” and she told us it was taking a long time because of the party. She said this all with a lot of attitude.

When our food finally came out the hot dishes were cold and the portions were small. I wish we would’ve taken pictures of our food, it did not look like what’s posted online.

We told the manager all of this and he said we had “the perfect storm of problems” and apologized. He took 30% off our bill. Even with the discount we still paid around $100 for all 4 meals.

There was a German shepherd in the restaurant. The dog had no service animal vest on or anything like that. There was a sign that said no animals.

Our waitress never did return to our table, we had to ask a different waitress to get our bill. The manager once again returned to our table to apologize and collect our bills. We we left our waitress was just standing there smirking.

If you cannot keep up with the dining room being open and having a party at the same time you should just close down when you’re having a party. If the food is going to take that long you need to tell your customers, and having animals in the restaurant is against food laws.

We left disappointed and hungry. Overall this was a terrible experience. I would never come back here or recommend it to anyone.

Terrible service, waitress was extremely snarky and provided little to no service to us. It was not extremely busy. Waited well over an hour for our food. The younger waitress and manager that helped us in the end were nice. Food wasn’t great steamed vegetables were cold, the whitefish portion was extremely small for $20 couldn’t have been more than 4oz.

We were looking for a place that served pizza and fish, but they no longer serve pizza. In fact, their menus listed on here are pretty outdated because they don’t sell half of it. When we found out they didn’t sell pizza my husband was kind of bummed, but he decided to have the fish. We also ordered cheese curds as an appetizer.

The cheese curds were good. They were cooked perfectly and were crunchy on the outside. We both ordered the Friday fish fry. We ordered the fried haddock. Both came with salad and soup. We were definitely asking each other why we ordered the cheese curds too.

My husband had the salad and I had vegetable beef soup. The greens for the salad were very fresh and crunchy. They weren’t wilted or discolored. The toppings were all very fresh too. He enjoyed his salad. The vegetable beef soup was also good.

After we finished the salad and soup the waitress brought out our cheese curds. After we finished the cheese curds she brought out our haddock. The haddock fillets had good flavor. They did not taste fishy, they were white, and flaky. The breading had a lot of flavor and it was very crunchy. My only complaint about the entire meal was the size of the potato. It was about the size of my fist.

The food was excellent, but as with many restaurants, there was only one server working the entire place. She was very friendly, but it would’ve been good to have two of her! I would definitely come back.

Great view of the golf course. The restaurant just reopened this year, so there is a limited menu currently. My kids enjoyed the chicken tenders and wraps.

I heard good things about this place, but it was extremely disappointing. After we ordered, it took us 20 minutes to get our salad. It was another 25 minutes before we got our entrees. One of our entrees was good the other was average at best. We could hear someone in the kitchen cussing up a storm. I'm not sure if it was a cook or a server. Not the best experience.

I pretty much never write reviews, BUT...We waited over an hour for our food. The salad bar was frequently out of salad & toppings. We watched people stand along the wall waiting for 10-15 minutes for salad before being noticed. The vegetables that came with my son & husband's meal were improperly cooked - the outside of the carrots were spongy and the inside was hard. My husband's baked potato was cooked through, but cold. The nachos were served with shrimp cocktail sauce rather than salsa, my tarter sauce was strangely sweet. People at another table left before their food was served and the waitress seemed disgusted when questioning other customers about their disappearance. We couldn't blame them & considered doing the same. When new people came in my husband said he wanted to tell them to run. The maple bacon fish portion was small but tasted okay. My deep fried whitefish was good, and so were my fries. The ranch was good but I had to get a cup of it from the salad bar since the waitress didn't bring it to the table as requested. Tonight was our first and last visit to this establishment.
