That The Celtic Knot is carrying 4.2 stars (as of this writing) stuns me. The view is nice, the food is average, and the wait staff is pleasant, but other than that, it's just not good. Our party of four was seated immediately on the deck upstairs. It was obvious from the start the wait staff was inexperienced and short-handed. There were several tables available, but only one had been wiped down, so that's where we sat. Our waiter took our drink orders right away. One of us who ordered a Coke received water instead. He asked three times for the correct beverage but never received it. We received our menus after ten minutes or so, at which time our waiter asked if we were ready to order. Um, no. How about you give us a few minutes to look at the menus first? Sure. Once we placed our orders, our waiter returned to our table several times to assure us that our food would be right up. An hour and a half later (!!!), after I told him we were leaving, we finally received our meals. They were ok: pseudo-Irish bar food that was prepared correctly but nothing to write home about. The exception was the Dublin Lawyer, which was outstanding. No one ever asked if we needed refills on our drinks. I paid the bill, which still had the missing Coke on it, but I let it slide in the interest of time. Several other groups came and went after giving up. Just before we left, a huge party of probably a dozen folks, including several kids, showed up. They pushed several tables together and wiped them down themselves with leftover napkins. I thought about waving them off, but by then I wasn't feeling especially charitable. One other thing: they need to do something about the stairs to the deck. The inside stairs to the second floor are fine, but the ones from the second floor to the deck are a nightmare. It's a miracle no one's been injured. Or maybe they have, and payments on the lawsuit are why there's not more staff. Who knows?

We got there on a Saturday a few minutes after 12, parking lot was empty, doors locked. Someone in an apron showed up a few minutes later, we didn't go in as it was supposed to open at 12. Really wanted to try it!
What a beautiful view of Lakeville lake. It's just really unfortunate that our food took almost 2 hours to get to us. The two servers that were working upstairs looked like they needed help, and I wish I could have gotten up to help.
Our server never brought my coke, we were asked if we were ready to order the second we were given menus. My food (Skullig Mac) could have had more cheese on it, but everyone else at the table enjoyed their food. The food was not bad! I just prefer a very cheesy Mac.

The fish and chips had only 2 pieces for a full order w/fries, it should have had something more. The shepherds pie was tasty but small though the toast was good. Not sure if we will return.

This place has so much potential, but the menu is somewhat lacking. The few times we have tried the food, it has been mediocre at best.

Just stopped in for a quick drink and now I need to go back for a meal. I don't know what it is about low ceilings that makes a place feel so homey, but the Celtic Knot has comfort seaping through the walls.

We had a large party of 12 people , 3 of us had hair in our food never go there. It was disgusting.
We had a very nice experience. Drinks, appetizer and soup...light lunch. Food taste and quality was very good. John (owner) was a wonderful host and enjoyed talking with him. Prices are escalated like everywhere else, but I can't imagine what these restaurateurs have been thru. We will be back BTW beautiful drive to go there.

Atmosphere on deck is nice but need more organization with making sure guests are taken care of with drink refills, etc. The food is mediocre and not a lot to chose from and not a lot of vegan options. Had chicken wrap and all the pieces of chicken were fat chunks and one had bone in it. Couldn’t eat it. I used to get this wrap and it was really good. Unfortunately won’t be back for long time now.

Checked out this place yesterday 8/3/24. we had cocktails & appetizers. A daily special: crab cake balls & steak calamari(very tender)great dipping sauces, hand pie, bacon & cheese rarebit (would serve 3) & Celtic minis a dinner we shared, great corned beef. these were all cooked to perfection & all the dishes came out in a timely manner. Then Angry Apples for dessert...OMG absolutely wonderful !! Wife had an excellent bloody mary & I tried one of their specials The Lady Guinness, properly poured with a shot of black currant liqueur in it. I needed two!!so good. Our waitress Eva, young but enthusiastic & went way above & beyond in her duties. very refreshing to see people that take pride in their jobs!! WE WILL BE BACK!!!

My Wife and I have been riding the Harley there for dinner for several years. It was much better when it was the Roadhouse… The last two times were there we didn’t have a waitress for at least 10 to 12 minutes and they sure raised their prices over the past year or so… For what you get for the money, and the poor service we have received lately, we’re going elsewhere for dinner…
