Long time patrons of the Cathay House we were hesitant. Present owners have brought back the delicious food we remembered.
Generous portions. Loaded with vegetables for the Veggie Lo Mein and .more than enough chicken in the Chicken Chow Mein.. The meal started with an egg roll which was excellent along with the hot mustard. Planning a return.DELICIOUS!

I have loved every dish I have tried but my favorite is Singapore. I order it once a week. The service has been great.

The food was delicious. I had the chicken lo mein combination and a wonton soup. It was so good and the portions where more than enough. Definitely mad they're not open on Monday.

Omg the atmosphere was terrible the seats are all ripped up disgusting to sit on. They had 7 tables tied up with food prep stuff that should have been behind clised doors. The food was plentiful but very bland we got 4 different dishes all tasted the same. Egg rolls and soup was good. We will not be back

They're very reasonable in price they always have my hot homemade mustard most places just give you the packages I want the original homemade like they do they're a lot better than Hong Kong inn in my opinion and you can actually sit down and eat your lunch or dinner instead of carryout
Excellent food and service Very clean

If you always want hot food, and you always want a full stomach, and you want something that you can munch on later, there's no other place to go than the china bowl. I'm the truest food critic that you will ever meet.

I've been going to this place for well over thirty years, mostly when it was still The Cathay House before it was sold in both their old location and at this one. The food is reasonably good, not special but good. The portions are good too.
However (and I should've listened to some other reviewers mentioning this), they don't itemize it on the cash register up front, just open it up and put the money in and give you your change, nor do they give you a printed or written receipt of any kind.
I got a carry out. The place was busy so the woman at the register just gave me my bag and handed me my change. Like I said, they were very busy so I just stuck the change in my pocket, took my bag and walked out.
When I got in my car I counted my change. It was at least five dollars short. Having no receipt and it being very busy, I just chalked it up to a lesson learned.
Think about it... What restaurant in this day and time doesn't ring up a tab that's either itemized or at least totaled on a register and then gives you no receipt? Hmmm....
My advice if you go there, total it up yourself from the menu before you pay and count your change.
Myself, from now on I'll be going to the New Canton Inn, a couple miles farther down Dix Road at Outer Drive.

Came in for a carry out. First time spent $55 for five of us which was amazing to me. I left a $8 tip for take out. I’m sure your sit down tables probably don’t leave that. Got home and ALL of the food was old like day before yesterday. That’s fine I’ll never spend another nickel there again.

They have the best Chinese food I have ever had, and they give you real shrimp. The waiter she's so nice and what you order is what you get, it's also a nice big portion of food and it's not expensive. A very clean place to go and sit and eat.

The food was awful....the fried rice was the color of coffee, tasted like old rice with tons if soy sauce....the General Tao Chicken was hard (over cooked) the egg rolls were greasy....a lot of tasteless food!!!
