I was very disappointed in the service I received at Chef John's today. I never even got waited on, 2 servers walked by the table I was sitting at and never acknowledged us. Two ladies came in after us and the server took their order prior to ours, we were their a good 10-15mins and we never got waited on or even acknowledged. I ended up leaving as I'm not gonna wait especially when I didn't get as much as someone will be with you momentarily.

Food was AMAZING. Their special was a biscuits and gravy plate and it was the most flavorful biscuits and gravy I've ever had. I also had the quiche and it was very good, a beautiful flaky crust all the way around. Service was nice as well. Also their bathrooms were gender neutral which made me feel very welcome and safe. Prices were also very fair, you get a lot for your dollar here. I would recommend this spot to anyone looking for a nice cozy brunch

My favorite are the chocolate chip cookies and red pepper bread. I had ordered the bread on a previous visit which put this place on the map for me.We had lunch on this visit and enjoyed ourselves. Wendy was an friendly server and had a magnetic personality. The turkey Rueben and kickin chicken salad were both great choices for our lunch.Quick. Easy. Delicious. Clean. Parking on the street. All good all around.

Excellent food and service. The menu had many things I wanted to try, but I have since returned. I love their breakfast and baked goods and everything they have is worth a taste. There is nice seating inside or you can do like a local and bring it home. I find that the great restaurants in Ludington are competitive with the fast food industry. Why? Because you can get their eats equally as fast by ordering on the phone and the cost comparison is better in my opinion. Most of the time you get more than enough for 1 person and therefore the value is equal to or better than the fast guys, only the food is WAY better. I recommend this place!

We had various pastries, all were spectacular. You can feel the layers of the pastry dough when you bite in, and each filling we had had a little something interesting in the flavor. The place is interesting to look at, too - someone really spent some time making it look good. I’ll stop here any time I’m in Ludington.

Loved it! What a nice, relaxing place to enjoy a really good meal. I so enjoyed the Dill Havarti soup. Yum! I paired it with a Chicken Chipotle sandwich on rye. Delish!

The food was decent but the atmosphere and service was so great. Our waitress was so sweet and so was the rest of the staff. Such a cute spot for breakfast or lunch.

Great coffee and bakery items. Also sandwiches and soup. . Cute place, friendly staff. Coffee served in real coffee mugs.. all China was different.

Stopped by for mid morning break. Delicious cinnamon roll and apple crunch. We got the last two cinnamon rolls much to the displeasure of the ladies that came in afterward. Apparently they sell out every day. Good coffee good service. A pleasure.

Very busy, poor service, over cooked breakfast. Pictures of the food look great, unfortunately was told that multiple items were sold out. Settled for a meal and it was over cooked and dried out.

My daughter and I ordered food to go because we wanted to eat outside at the picnic table. Ordered coffee, orange juice, shirred eggs that came with extremely blackened toast and unseasoned potatoes, and avocado toast. The shirred eggs had hair and was undercooked. Potatoes have no seasoning. Toast was blackened to a crisp. Avocado toast was listed as a special on the board. The avocado (guacamole) had no seasoning. Bacon bits tasted like they'd been rinsed with water. The egg on top of the toast was also unseasoned.Coffee is served in a Styrofoam cup, one size only. Orange juice is served in a children's plastic cup, one size only.Inside of the to-go bag was numerous butter packets, three jellies, two forks, one spoon, and a good amount of napkins. Can't recommend Chef John's unless you need charcoal for upset tummy or bring your own seasonings.

I am disappointed. The service was so slow that it became ridiculous. 20 minutes to get acknowledged and 90 for a simple breakfast. The server said she had our bill but it took another 20 minutes to see it. The tablecloth was stained. The food was decent but not worth the shortcomings of this establishment. Won’t return
