Don Christo's Tequila & Tacos

Great place for date night! Walking in, the ambience reminded me of South Beach Miami - contemporary, pop latino music, low lighting... and love the individual tabletop lamps.

Chips are homemade daily and passed our initial criteria of good start! My husband thoroughly enjoyed the steak fajitas and had more than plenty to enjoy for lunch the next day. I tried what was recommended by the owner Chris - the beef Quesabirria. A new twist of a "taco" for me. Tender corn tortillas stuffed generously with juicy short rib beef. I like the extra spice, so a generous side of fresh jalapeno was also supplied at my request. For me, this was an easier dish to eat with a fork & take advantage of a quick dip into the side beef consomme. Excellent suggestion - would order this again.

We wanted to watch college football and there were plenty of large TVs within the bar area... as well as scattered about the dining room.

Nice twist of Mexican theme foods - a bit more exotic choices for the foodies. Will be back!

Wowww….Macomb Twp definitely needed this incredible vibe! The atmosphere, food, drinks and staff was top notch. You could tell everyone was doing their absolute best. The owners were making their rounds and were so genuine, they made sure everyone was having a good time. The fajitas and margaritas were outstanding! Just made reservations for a special occasion in 2 weeks, can’t wait to come back. Thank you for the experience !!!

Great Mexican restaurant. I went with a few people, we all got something different, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Lots of glutton free choices. I got the Rico Street tocos. They weren't too spicey and not too mild, absolutely perfect! AND YOU HAVE TO GET THE CHURRO DESERT!

October 2024 - we came here for my birthday and I did not know this place existed. What a find by my wife! Very nice on the inside and they do have a deck on the side of the building. They do have a bar. The food was really good. I ordered the bowl and mixed everything up. We did order the chips with the 3 sauces. The guacamole was very good. You did get a side of chips and salsa. The salsa was good. My wife ordered the drink in the picture. She said it was really good. The kids loved their nachos. My other daughter ordered the quesadilla (no chicken). I have 3 daughters from 7-12. My two youngest daughters loved everything and they want to celebrate their birthday here. They do have a big room in the back. Overall, my family loved the food, the staff was amazing, and everything was good. We will be back!

The restaurant is very clean and the ambiance is incredible. Modern take on a TexMex restaurant. It isn’t authentic Mexican, it is much better. The food has always been fantastic and the salsa tastes so fresh. The drinks have always been great and the tequila selection is very expansive. Definitely worth trying for a date night or to take the family to, you won’t be disappointed!

The way this place looks is amazing! The fact that we went in and was the only couple there was shocking! We couldn’t really tell if it was open or not when we pulled into the parking lot.

Everything was “ok” but when I got the bill I was shocked! Two drinks total for me and my wife, ordered some tacos and chips, appetizer, we were at like $86 bucks plus tip…. We said yeah this is way too expensive for “this”.

The staff was amazing the venue is amazing.. pricing not the best, and I hope they find a way to drive more traffic!

P.S. run some specials or promotions I think it will help!

Our first visit to Don Christo’s. We visited late for an appetizer and dessert. The craft cocktails were good. We had the trio dip and chips. The churro dessert was awesome. The ambiance is very nice. The bar has TVs but they aren’t obnoxious. Service was perfect. We will be back.

Honestly, I am very disappointed in this restaurant. The food was not good at all it tasted like very unauthentic Mexican food. My total was 89.24 and the cashier rounded it up to 90 and didn’t give my change. There was huge pieces of chicken that was chewy and unseasoned. The prices are crazy high for nothing special. Will not return.

This was my first visit. I had looked up the happy hour on FB but must have been old post. The specials were only from 5-7. I enjoyed the house margarita but a tad overpriced. I liked the salsa but the chips were just okay. I had the quesabirria tacos which tasted good but were extremely greasy and it was dripping off of them. My friend ordered the churros which were delicious but the plating was very awkward and made it hard to eat/share. Honestly, it looked like it was served in a dog bowl albeit a pretty one. The ice cream was rock hard and tasted a bit freezer burned. I took home a tres leches for my husband. It was huge but again the ice cream tasted off. The atmosphere is beautiful, although we had a couple of flies that would not leave us alone. I really wanted to love this place. Sadly, everything but the atmosphere fell a bit short for the price we paid.

Very clean and tidy atmosphere. Food was delicious (I highly recommend the Ghost Pepper Mac n Cheese) and came in perfectly-sized proportions. Service was great as well.
