Don Christo's Tequila & Tacos

Don Christo’s is a fantastic Mexican spot in Metro Detroit! The Chipotle Adobo Chicken and Sonora Street Tacos were both amazing, the service was super friendly, and the place itself was warm and beautifully decorated.

Was OK. Portions were a bit smaller than a normal Mexican restaurant in proportion. Food was decent. Could have used a bit more seasoning. A Margarita in a small rock glass was $12. They also are one of the restaurants that are starting to charge 3% for using a credit card just like some gas stations. Just hurts the waitstaff and makes the customer experience unpleasant by surprising you with this when they bring the tab. Should be posted out front so that people are aware upfront of this hidden cost.
Our waitress was great! But the surprise at the end with the tab was not cool at all.

My wife and I order a Verde Chicken Burrito to share.
Unfortunately it was just a chicken, rice & bean Burrito.
It was missing, the following, Green Chili, verde salsa, roasted poblano, Serrano, jalapeños, Jack chinuahug cheese & had no topping of cilantro crème.
Very disappointing to pay 18.00 dollars for a bean, rice & chicken Burrito.

1. Waited a while with no hostess to be seated, the place was empty.
2. Asked for happy hour menu, waitress came back 10 mins later asking if we were ready to order, we had to remind her she never brought the menu.
3. I ordered a margarita flight and was told only 2 of the 3 flavors were available. I asked if I can have 1 of each before deciding which flavor I wanted as the 3rd, she said I can’t do that and have to decide right now which flavor I want to double up on. (Which doesn’t make sense especially since the place was empty)
4. After taking our order she went to the bar and started talking on her cell phone leaning on the bar for 10 minutes before she made our drinks (the place empty, we were the only customers so we had a clear view of her).
5. She literally came back with only 2 drinks from the flight and said the freeze machine went down so we have to wait for it to restart before she could make the 3rd, which was what I asked in point 3 and she said no
6. Sent back something because it was cold and WATCHED her poke it with her finger when she took it behind the bar and brought the same plate back out 1 minute later. The food is obviously microwaved.
We asked for the bill, paid and left without eating

This place is clean, service was great and we were seated right away. We had fish tacos with beans that were superb and rice. The fish could have used a lot more seasoning, but not bad. I would definitely recommend this restaurant

Food was stellar and very yummy. Waitress/bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable, only complaint I had was when she got busy at the bar, I had to ask random staff for things.

We had an amazing experience here. The drinks were hand crafted and amazing!! We had the Chorizo Corn Bread app and Ghost Pepper Mac & Cheese. I swear I almost cried after my last bite it was that good. Jena our bar tender was the perfect compliment to our experience. I would give this place 100 stars if they let me!!!!

Food was fantastic will definitely go back. Huge selection of Tequila. Rice and beans were delicious. And the guacamole and caso was fantastic. Good size servings had enough for lunch the next day. The dining area is spacious and very clean looking. Dosen't look that big from parking lot.

Food was terrible. No spice. Rice was bright yellow. Beans were not refried. It was like an English person tried to recreate the menu to appeal to the British.

What a great surprise. When you walk in the decor is clean and modern but still with a Mexican feel. that's your first tip-off that this is more than your usual Mexican restaurant. The menu has a lot of options you don't see most places. And the food - delicious. I had the quesabirra an my wife had the mushroom tacos paired with the premium margarita. Both dishes knocked it out of the park. Even the beans tasted good and fresh, served whole in a bowl rather than the typical pool of mush. hands down the best Mexican restaurant in the area and we cant wait to go back.

Great cocktails!!!! Food is decent.
We stopped in today (Sunday) for margs on the patio. Patio is closed. Quite disappointing considering there were 2 other cars there only.
Why have a patio if it’s not open to enjoy?
We decided to pass and find an open patio.

From the outside you would never expect this place to be so cool and modern on the inside. It's large and open and has a great vibe. Everything we tried was delicious, from the chips and salsa, to the pork belly tacos and the chicken Verde burrito. Portions were large and the dragon fruit strawberry frozen margarita was phenomenal. They even had a kids menu and dessert. Highly recommend.

The food and drinks are outstanding. We loved the modern feeling atmosphere, excellent music. No issues at all with bringing smaller kids. We will most certainly be coming back.
