“Ever since moving to Michigan, I’ve wanted to try Isla because it’s one of the few fully Filipino restaurants. I took my friends (not Filipino) and we enjoyed it so much! FOOD: The calamansi juice was so well made and refreshing. I had pork adobo (because you can’t go wrong with adobo) and they had lechon kawali + dinuguan sauce. The pork adobo was SO tender and just had the right flavors. The lechon kawali was so crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. We also shared a Halo-Halo dine-in, which my friends had never had. They elevate the halo-halo from traditional by taken the coconut water from the fresh coconut and freezing it to turn into the shaved ice for the halo-halo. So you can literally taste the coconut in the ice too. I don’t like artificial coconut very much but LOVE fresh so this was absolutely amazing. I got a tropical ube cake and Sans Rival to-go and took bites as soon as I got home… absolutely delectable!! EXPERIENCE: The restaurant space and seating is limited, so it doesn’t feel super chaotic like it feels at some larger/chain restaurants. The owners (JP & Jacqueline) are the only ones working during weekdays and sometimes have 2 teenagers helping during the weekend. Kuya JP and Ate Jacqueline were SO accommodating and attentive even though it’s only the two of them cooking/serving in the restaurant. They’re super kind and care about your eating experience. Overall, such a positive experience and it felt so much like home! If I could give more starts, I would. Definitely recommend trying!!“
“This was our first at Yma Ymas and can't wait to go back again. The food was very tender and delicious, it felt like a traditional home-cooked meal. We liked the Shanghai Lumpia so much that we decided to take some frozen pieces to go!The hospitality and the service were 10/10! The owners answered all of our questions and made us feel very comfortable. We appreciate them sharing their culture with us!“
“I waited until today before going to this Jollibee location in order to avoid the long lines and I was able to satisfy my cravings for Chicken Joy and Mango peach pie. I was quite disappointed, however, that they don't have Palabok or Ube Pie which I saw on the website. My daughter ordered the Jollibee Spaghetti and she was very happy with it. I also ordered a side of adobo rice which I found just okay so I decided to save it for breakfast tomorrow along with fried eggs. The pineapple juice was perfect! As for the service, our order didn't come with the pineapple juices which we paid for but they quickly rectified it since we ate inside. Also, the staff weren't smiling or friendly like I had read from some reviews. Nevertheless, I will definitely go back when my cravings hit me again.“
“Picked up a takeout order. The guy working was really friendly, greeted me immediately. Tons of vegetarian options. The food wasn't super flavorful and a little on the expensive side for what it was. $30 for three vegetarian options in picture. Still very good selection and service.“
