This restaurant has superb service as well as yummy menu. One of my favourite places in the city. The drinks and food came out fast and the rates were economical. I recommend this place.

I've visited several times. Once was rather pleasant with good service. Multiple times I'm waiting a very long time with and rather unpleasant servers. Multiple times our order has been incorrect or badly made. Barely any Cajun on a Cajun burger for example. And this last time my food was delivered on a dirty plate. Nothing I ordered was supposed to come with dried mustard.

I hadn't been here in probably three years, seeing as I live in another state, so I had certain expectations which is why I stopped here in the first place, since there were other options such as Bob Evan's and McDonald's on either side of S&S. We didn't wait long to be seated and service was prompt. The first thing we noticed was the lack of options/flavors with the shakes and steak(sandwiches). I ordered the Jalapeno Crunch Steakburger, with the salsa on the side, and chili fries, which I didn't get, but I left it because I didn't want to wait any longer. The salsa was thin and a wee bit vinegary. The chipotle mayo and small sized, pickled jalapenos were centered on the burger leaving plenty of un-dressed, smashed burger. The cheese wasn't very present either. When our food arrived we then ordered our shakes, Oreo Cookies and Cream and Butterfinger. After three bites of the Orea shake, I resorted to reading the menu to see how it was advertised. It's made with real milk I assume, but it tastes like ice milk and was extremely disappointing. I left it there. The Butterfinger wasnt any better. It tasted like milk with pieces of candy bar. I wouldn't go back. Even if I did live where S&S's are located. They should/could do much better with the two items that their name signifies.

Today was my first time trying Steak n Shake... I wasn't impressed. I've tried everything known to man to put on this burger and it's still not good. Fries were below average. Shake was good, but too thick. Establishment was slow, dirty, and poorly managed. I won't be going back.

My experience here was not so great in regards to the end of our visit. I came to the counter to pay my bill. I stood there for about what seemed like forever. There was a lady sitting at the counter. A woman from the cooking area approached the woman and asked what she needed. The lady states what she needed and the worker readily walks away to attend to her. She walks back with the lady's order, then immediately left the area again, WITHOUT a blink of an eye to acknowledge me, then stops at the sink, only to rinse her hands for TWO seconds and walks away to the cooking area where she put cloves and began to handle food. Finally had to ask who was gonna help me, the cook turned and said someone would be right with me. Finally someone came to take care of my needs. I certainly complained about the wait to pay my bill and the worker whom had not washed her hands. Was VERY patient but was extremely irritated.

Had to come to this location as the Livonia one is now closed from the sign that said they're changing Franchise owners. My food was fresh & delicious as it should be for the wait. Not very busy probably because you typically wait longer than you would at Culver's. I'd come here again.

Just okay but definitely a good deal. I came here tonight with some friends before a movie screening at AMC John R. I know they sometimes send out coupons via snail mail but I didn't have any, so I joined their email list and received a coupon for a free double cheeseburger with fries, with purchase. Normally that is $4 I believe. I also ordered a junior shake with Reese's. Everyone was already there when I arrived and we had to wait about 10 minutes for the waitress to come back, I guess she was pretty busy today. The food came out fast though and I wish I could have eaten more of it but we were running late for the movie. The burger was very good and the fries are very small and crispy. The shake was a little bit melty which was annoying. I ate about half of it and most of the Reese's were at the bottom. All in all I can't really complain because my bill was about $3 after the coupon. I'd like to come back here another time after a movie and maybe get a shake or some onion rings or fries, too. I had been to this location before but many years ago, as well.
Me and my friends used to come here during the winter. They had a nice handsome waiter last time we visited (forgot his name lol).

Where to start... Walked in, sign said wait to be seated, that's exact what we did wait and wait and wait while multiple employees looked at us and one even walked past us without speaking to us. Then we were seated and waited some more. Our order was finally taken and our drinks didn't come until we received our food. The child drink didn't have a lid we had to ask for it and got an excuse. No one working in the lobby had any sense of urgency about what they were doing. The food was at least correct though so there's that.

Very friendly staff, good with suggestions, generous portion of stick fries. Had my first BBQ with bavon and curly onions, it was exactly what I expected. Ordered it with grilled onions rather than the extra raw onion, it was the right decision. Glad i dropped in for a quick dinner on the way home

I drove up to drive thru and the lady on the speaker said "we'll be with you in a minute" and I said ok. 2 mins go by then 4 mins and then after 12 mins I still was not helped. There wasn't a lot of people in the parking so it couldn't have been busy. I obviously left and was super annoyed by this.
