(Okay food!)
(Awesome service!)
Atmosphere: N/A (Tried the food truck)

I recently pulled over to try Scott's Pig Roast Food Truck and had an experience! While I spotted their food truck in Stevensville, Michigan, I learned that the actual restaurant is located in Marcellus, Michigan. As I’ve been on the hunt for delicious BBQ, it felt like the perfect opportunity to pull over and give it a try.

The food was decent overall. I opted for the brisket sandwich and mac and cheese. While they were good, I believe the experience would be even better sitting down at the restaurant. I'm particularly curious to sample their brisket sans sauce to really appreciate the flavor.

On the positive side, the service was fantastic! The staff greeted me warmly and guided me through the menu with genuine kindness. Their smiles certainly made the visit more enjoyable.

I’m looking forward to checking out the atmosphere next time I visit. The food truck is charming, and I’ve heard great things about the entire restaurant.

In summary, my experience at Scott's Pig Roast was delightful. I’ve heard that they specialize in whole hogs, and I can’t wait to taste that. If you’re in the area, I definitely recommend stopping by!

*I'm not sure of the vegetarian options.
*I'm not sure of parking yet.
*Food truck food appeared kid-friendly.

We had catering for our wedding! Highly recommended. Everyone loved the food as did we!

I called the establishment last week wednesday. I left a detailed message did not hear back . I followed up this morning the guy answers I stated my name. He states what are you trying to sell me. What a joke, this guy should not be representing the organization. I would only assume by his tone that he is the owner of the establishment. Word to the guy who took this call. This is how you get a bad reputation and this is why I would never consider you again even though you have done events at my farm in the past. You plainly SUCK as a business person.

I got the chicken strips and fries. I asked before ordering if they hand dip their strips, and they said no. I said "ok" and ordered anyways since you can get some pretty decent breaded chicken strips that are frozen. Big mistake. They were the ultra-processed fast food type of "chicken" that is a spongey, gross texture. Gave 2 stars because the fries were decent.

I was pumped to try this food and it was a let down. The brisket fries were good. The pork Mac was soggy, no flavor, stoffers Mac and chz style but worse, the chicken tenders were super thin, dry and cold, the coleslaw was not fresh or homemade. We spent $40+ on food and it was just not good.

Scott’s helped us to celebrate my husband’s retirement party. They arrived on time with a wonderful personality to help set up our tables of their delicious food. Not only did they provide delicious pulled pork and pulled chicken but also four different sauces. Thank you for making our party a great success.

The BBQ brisket was delicious but the Mac and cheese had no flavor.

I’d like to start off this review by saying that the pulled pork, brisket, rib tips, baked beans, and coleslaw are all pretty solid! The cheesy potatoes could use a little more cheese, but they have good flavor and that’s just personal preference. However, sadly we do not have all good things to say. We ordered bacon Mac n cheese, but all we received was regular Mac n cheese that was seriously lacking. It was watery and not very flavorful. Even after doctoring it up with extra cheese, breadcrumbs, pulled pork and bbq sauce it just wasnt all that good. Same with the ranch green beans - except they were genuinely gross. I’d be surprised if they weren’t canned - they were mushy and didn’t taste like ranch in the slightest. And all the food was eaten basically as soon as they were finished setting up, so I know it wasn’t an issue of letting them sit out too long or anything.Additionally, if customer service is something that is important to you, you will want to look elsewhere for a caterer. My father and myself (the bride) were the only two people on the contract for our order, which isn’t a problem in itself. The problem arose when I would email Scott multiple times (3+ times over a week span) and quite literally never received an answer. Because he was not answering me, I had my fiancé reach out and email him, to which Scott proceeded to email my dad and get mad that my fiancé was emailing him even though he wasn’t on the contract….except I WAS on the contract and still didn’t receive any answers. I never even got sent the contract to begin with! I had literally no way to contact Scott myself and he never answered any of my questions or communication efforts. Everything had to be done via my dad and even though my dad would get responses, they often weren’t in a timely manner. In short, the customer service was pretty atrocious. On top of being unresponsive to emails, whenever I would catch Scott on the phone, he was not very pleasant and had a bit of an attitude. Brandon, however, is very kind.Overall, if all you care about is that the meat is good, then I’d say Scott’s pig roast is a solid choice. If you’re looking for a place with great customer service though, you’ll probably have better luck elsewhere. Especially if you’re planning a big event like a wedding - it’s stressful enough as it is, the last thing you need is a caterer you can’t get a hold of.Overall, not a terrible experience, but if I could redo things, I would’ve picked a different caterer.

Scott's has done all three of our graduation parties, a 40th b-day for my wife, and even Christmas dinners for a large group of us. It is literally the best bbq food you can find. It's the standard we compare everything to. It tastes amazing, looks amazing, and Scott tells you exactly what to do to serve it in the best way. He knows events and catering better than anyone I've ever met. He once saved our graduation party from a rain disaster by literally coordinating the reorganization of our tents and tables when he dropped off the food ...as a favor! They are seriously the best people. He tries to not sell food you won't eat! I look forward to every chance we get to interact with Scott's. They make SW Michigan better.

We used Scott's for a pig roast at my house for my employees. The overall experience was great, Scott helped me with the order, timing, and made sure we had everything we were going to need. Scott showed up and I could tell from the smells coming off the flattop he brought that this was going to be good! Everyone loved the pig, but we also had some amazing brisket, wings, and sides (the big hit was the cheesy potatoes). Scott was really fun to talk to and he took great care of us. The setup they have to reheat everything and keep it warm for hours was really nice and made it easy to consolidate leftovers into what essentially were disposable hotel pans (surprisingly at the end of the day there wasn't much left). And the price was right as well! So I would highly recommend Scott's for anything on his menu, but get the pig, that's not something you have everyday and he does it right. DELICIOUS!

You will not be disappointed; great food at a fair price. They are busy and sometimes things seem a bit hectic when communicating with Scott but he will deliver a great meal. We had a small wedding and he worked with us to plan a menu that fit the size and style of reception...all our guests enjoyed the meal!

If you’re looking for a place to do a pig roast or catering for an event- you’ve found it with Scott’s! We hired them to do a pig roast for a birthday party and we couldn’t be happier with the service and quality of food they provided. I worked mainly with Scott through the ordering/scheduling process- he was very thorough and consultative on how to ensure a great event and what would make our guests happy (timing, what to order, how/when to serve, etc). Then on the day of the party, Brandon was our guy, and he is great! He showed up on time, was very friendly and upheld exactly what Scott had promised during our calls leading up to the event. Brandon- thank you man! You made our event even better!! Finally, with regards to the food- top notch….trust me. We ordered a whole pig which came with all the sauces. The pig was outstanding! The meat is great quality and the rub/seasoning they put on it is incredible. The sauces provided were equally delicious- mild, spicy, medium, vinegar based- all great. We ate the pork for four days as leftovers LOL and continued to get texts and compliments from our guests about how good everything was.I could go on and on about the service and quality but I’m sure you get my point. Work with Scott’s- you won’t regret it!

We had Scott's cater a pig roast for our June 2023 wedding, and it was delicious! We found it best to communicate with their team over phone, and they were super helpful in terms of menu selection and logistics. Once onsite day-of, they were organized, on time and great to work with.

We hired Scott to cater our event of 60 people in June 2023 in Quincy, MI. Being that we reside in Toledo, I was not sure what company to go with but Scott had the best Google reviews and that is what I based my decision off of. There was not one thing we were dissatisfied with! The fine service, communication and product Scott and his team delivered left us with no regrets. We ordered Rib Tips, Beef Brisket, Loaded Mashed (crowd favorite), Mac Salad, meat and cheese and a veggie tray. I recommend purchasing the sterno frames and burners. All serving utensils were included. We went with the drop off service since our party location was on an island. The food arrived to the lot on time and HOT! The portions were very generous and we had lots of leftovers ? 10 out of 10 would book them again!
