I LOVE their 1/2 lb. burgers! They ALWAYS cook mine exactly as I order it med-rare. Love their beer boombas. Very friendly. REASONABLY priced. GREAT 60-70's music piped in. View of river. Outdoor seating avail. front & back. If u want fast food go 2 McD's.This is BAR food OK! & they do a great job. If u want gourmet foo foo food go elsewhere & pay out the azz 4 it.

first of all, the food was very bland... no flavor at all. the tater tots tasted like fish. we ordered but, the table behind us ordered way after us and received their food way before us. we had no napkins. we actually had to ask. no eating utensils whatsoever. the kid was nice but too worried about his regulars and not anyone that was a visitor. I do not see myself going back ever again. do better Gars. and clean your oil once in a while. I don't like fishy tater tots and very bland food. the worst bar burgers I ever had and definitely the worst tater tots, I mean fishy tater tots.

Just got a bleu cheese burger from there today 2/5/2025 completely trash like one spoon full of cheese that's it. Your good cost to much to cheap out on the best part of the burger. Not happy sending it back now

I stopped in once in the summer for the first time. I tried the "famous" Gar burger that people talk about. It was just a bun with meat in between. No flavor, just cooked meat. The service was okay, the server was very busy and it was clear that she was overwhelmed. Clearly not her fault, having too many tables to adequately tend to her customers; maybe someone called in. She was nice though. I went back recently and tried the burger again. Same result. No flavor. Service was bad this time and they weren't busy enough to give the server a pass. I'm no chef, but I've had plenty of burgers with flavor. Probably won't go back. Nice location though.

Terrible owner who appears to chew on bricks. She is insufferable and does not cater to the customers who has been going there for years. You can’t use the pool table even if you’re 20 years old. I can go to the military but you can’t play pool at gars. Don’t get me started on the AWFUL music that the owner blasts. DONT GO TO GARS, terrible music, prices and terrible owner (I would rate this trash 0 stars if I could)

Wow, what a shame. I come here to get a classic burger just like always. Food is great don’t get me wrong. However, prices are way too high, and don’t come with fries. Not to mention the owner is a toolbox and would break the floor if she ate my burger. The pool table policy is disastrous. I can sign up and fight for my country in the military, but I can’t play pool at Gars. This is ridiculous, fix your pool policy.

One if my pet peeves...cleanliness. I ordered wine..Glass came with lipstick on the glass. Waitress takes it back ...walking towards our table notices another dirty glass. This is completely unacceptable. Now the food...two hamburgers served both ordered medium...period. One came out as ordered the other come out rare. The waitress suggested the next time I order...medium well. OK but how come they got it right on my companions burger. Well ther won't be a next time....if you look up towards the ceiling..the windows are covered in dust and spider webs...very dirty place and for 60 bucks for two hamburger..is most definitely not worth the trip
