Food was not great. Atmosphere was forgettable, I’ll give two stars because the order came out somewhat fast but other than that your better off hitting a McDonald’s or a fast food place.

Great little mom and pop Breakfast/Lunch place. Food is excellent with very little wait time after ordering. Servings are a good size and prices are very reasonable.

We discovered The Golden Eatery on our recent trip to Mears, near Lake Michigan. We stopped in for breakfast and ordered breakfast tacos. The homemade tacos were filled with scrambled eggs, bacon, and cheese. Sour cream and salsa on the side. Endless coffee refills, too. At $2 taco and fresh coffee, we happily paid our $10 bill and left a hefty tip for sweet waitress.

Owner/ waitress was terrific. They were packed, and she was right on top of the coffee. Country fried steak with hash browns and eggs was delicious. Nice local small town feel. Really homey.
