Absolutely the best bbq meat restaurant in the area! You won’t go wrong with ordering anything off the menu. The Hillbilly rolls with the house made dipping sauce along with the breaded pickle chips are a great starters. The meats: brisket, pulled pork, baby back ribs, chicken and kielbasa sausage is a must if you visit. My wife, sister/brother in law, their 4 kiddos, and myself enjoyed the Patriot platter.

First time here at broken smoker. The atmosphere is cute inside. Our waitess was nice and attentive. Now the food was smoky and bland. I like smoked meats but it was way too much smoke. Had brisket chicken and sausage. The sausage is why they get any stars because that was delicious. if you like food with bland flavor this is your spot. I like flavor so it's just not for me.

We were looking for a new place to try in the Gun Lake vicinity and were not disappointed with our choice! The meat was delicious, the sides were decent (beans were delish, mac was a little bland but ok, corn bread was kinda stale honestly). The waitress, Hayley, was fantastic! She is a gem. We will definitely be back.

Had it a few years back and I wasn't impressed but I thought I'd give them some time. I heard people saying they've been doing a better job lately so I tried again.
Got the 2 meat platter. The brisket is their star here, well smoked and very moist. I think a lot of people are turned off by the neutral smoking flavor (other negative reviews) but they do this so people can add their preferred flavor with the sauce afterwards. The ribs were equally moist and smoked but my gripe here is they left the silver skin on them. Peeling the silver skin off of ribs before smoking is BBQ 101. It's not good. That being said after I got a mouthful of it I peeled the rest and they were pretty good. Mac and cheese and BBQ beans were both good but the corn bread was dry and pretty average.
Overall pretty decent but please remove that silver skin. It's a little expensive but I guess everything is these days unfortunately. I'll try the pulled pork next time and report back.

Waiting for a table, restaurant was crowded, they did not take reservations just wait listed customers as they arrived. 15 minutes later, when a party of 7 arrived, they were seated ahead of me. Manager shrugged shoulders and said, "they are a party of 7, what am I supposed to do?". I smiled, and left to eat elsewhere.

I ordered a half rack of ribs with beans and cornbread by far the best in Barry County right down to the cornbread

Broken Smoker is a truly great BBQ restaurant. As a testament I am not typically a fan of baked beans but Broken Smoker's beans are phenomenal! I also loved their pulled pork sandwich. If you have never been to Broken Smoker or looking for some great BBQ I would highly recommend checking them out.

The food speaks for itself. The Mac & cheese is nice and rich, the pulled pork is fall apart tender with a natural smoky flavor that you just aren’t finding at other places. The smoked beans are exceptional as well, with just a bit a home style ‘slaw to top it off. All in all I spent $9, but what you’re really getting is the authenticity. This stuff tastes like more than food, it tastes like a fine American day spent cooking with family and friends, or times lost to our current culture. 10/10 would recommend

Brisket was awesome the burger was sorta dry. The shotgun fries were great without the terrible cheese sauce, would be better with pepper jack. Lucky I was really

Back in November we ate here for my brother's birthday, The food was amazing!! 10/10 we couldn't wait to come back. We've tried twice in the last couple of months and each time it's been closed. Otherwise I would have given 5*.
As a Business owner myself, I hope you figure out the problems because you have a good thing going. It's hard to please people 100% looks like from your reviews it was a hit! Don't let it slip away.

Don't listen to brenden lamphere, he likes 2 Scotts which I think is the worst barbecue I have had!!! This place has EXCELLENT BBQ!!! The ribs are delicious. Smokey, flavorful and moist!! From the brisket right down to the pulled pork and chicken you can't go wrong here. And don't get me going on the fried pickles and smoked beans!!! The owner and staff are amazing!!! I won't go anywhere else now.

Probably some of the worst ribs I have ever had. Unevenly cooked and dried out in majority of spots. Zero to minimal flavor...
