I ordered the shrimp scampi entree. The meal as a whole was okay, but the issues lies with the shrimp. The first few I ate were fine until I bit into one that tasted rotten. I figured it was a one off so I took the dish home and tried eating the leftovers the next day. Again the first few were fine and again one engulfed my tastebuds with the taste of rot. I figured the rolled the dice enough and tossed the rest. Nasty
Amazing artisanal cocktail. I loved my Caribbean flamingo. It was perfectly balanced and refreshing. Will definitely go again!
We were lucky enough to celebrate our engagement here while visiting from out of state. They were able to accommodate our group of ten with almost no advance notice. The food was fantastic and we were even gifted a bottle of champagne by the owner to celebrate the proposal! We would definitely recommend stopping in while visiting Milford.
Enjoyed delicioious takeout in generous portions sizes, like the plate of Calamari Picatta Linquine pictured here and another full plate size leftover.
This place is amazing , everything from the food , staff and decor it's great. Finally a place that knows its food !!! Ty we will be back Joe the owner
We love palate! I miss their expanded menu from pre-COVID but love that they kept the chicken and waffles. Also - you HAVE to try the tenderloin steak tips! The sauce is incredible, so savory! Their cocktails are always delicious as well. Definitely check this place out if you’re in Milford.
My husband and I went on a dinner date here and it was nice apon arrival. Very beautiful inside, nicely decorated. The menu is more of a brunch, limited dinner type options. I got a mushroom and swiss w/ fries and my husband got a chicken Parm sand w/ Fries and it was absolutely delicious. The only issue I had here, was when I got my drink. I was admiring the straws because they have glass straws (smart!) BUT I discovered my straw had a piece of food lodged inside of it, before we even got our food. I let the waitress know and she only took my straw, not my drink. It was quite obvious she just brought it to the back and rinsed it out and brought it back in an empty cup. So I had to drink my pop that had someone else's food in it with a rinsed out straw... It was super gross ?
Love this place! They were great pre COVID and they seem to be finding their way back. Had dinner with a few friends recently.Dinner and cocktails were great. I love how they share where they are sourcing foods from. Menu was back to a lot of good options. They had live music which was great for a night out.I’m a big fan of Joe the owner (and Bristol too). Very welcoming and genuinely seem to care about the experience people have and the quality of food they serve.
Our experience was a disappointment. The food was good, and my husband liked the beer selection. However, when I spend $100+ on a meal, I expect a quality dining experience, and I didn’t get one. (Maybe that’s why there was no wait at 6pm on a Saturday night!)Our service was lousy. Our server really did the bare minimum. When you’re at a table for an hour (we were told we would only have an hour to sit down because there was a 7pm reservation for the table we were seated at) and leaving a $20 tip (20% of a $100 bill), you would expect the service to be better than that of a Coney Island—that wasn’t the case.I ordered a non-alcoholic Shirley temple (sprite with a splash of grenadine). It was served in a tiny glass with probably less than 6oz of soda. I was charged $3 for the first one and then $3 for a second one. (I’ve never been to a place that doesn’t offer free refills on this particular drink! It’s not as if it’s a cocktail!)This place isn’t kid friendly at all. Our kids are very well behaved at restaurants and we like to take them out to eat. We won’t be returning with them to Palate.
Kid-friendliness: This restaurant is not kid friendly at all. We asked for two high chairs and got one booster seat (after we had been seated for about ten minutes), so we had to hold one of our children on our laps while we ate. There is no kids menu and when we asked about a kids menu, our server said they could “maybe do some grilled chicken with some vegetables or something.” I asked for extra napkins, and our server brought one napkin. We will not return with children.
Drinks are great. The beer list is full of all stars. Love the atmosphere. Cool live music right now during lunch. The food is average and a bit pricey for what it is.

This restaurant caters to all your needs. It is a farm to table dining experience. It offers vegetarian, gluten free, and allergy sensitivity diets. A unique atmosphere with farm decor accents. The food was delicious, (we tried the Norwegian Benedict, the Breakfast burrito and the Partisan omelette) service was great and everyone was very friendly. Highly recommend the brunch on Sunday, since the food items are exceptional. We will be returning to experience the fine cuisine in the future.

Such a great experience and amazing food. We came in after dropping our wives off and the host was stalling us and I was getting frustrated. Little did I know they had told him my birthday was this week and he was trying to give the guitar player more time to get set up to play happy birthday. Also, little did I know the “host” was actually the owner of the restaurant, Joe. The rest of our time there was outstanding. He brought us a couple rounds of specialty drinks and hung out. On top of all that the food was the best I’ve had in this area (Lakes area). Very fresh, flavorful and great portions (I had the skirt steak). Can’t recommend Palate enough. We will definitely be back again!
Owners very accommodating and the food was unique and delicious. Staff was attentive, knowledgable and helpful. The Palate is the Crown Jewel of Milford's dining experiences. Quality cuisine and ample serving size. Busy but not rushed.
Brunch was good. Service was slow ,& lacked attention. No pickles for bloody Marys because the bartender stated she didn't want to take the time to go downstairs, get them & spear them. Incomplete bloody Marys with just a celery stalk were still $12.
Had chicken and waffles with fries, and a poutine, was delicious, fries were amazing, thick, real cut potatoes and really crispy. You can taste the freshness and the real quality of the dishes, just wish the cheese curds on the poutine were not fried and had some more.
