It's truck stop food, but plenty of it and fairly inexpensive. Service was outstanding. Came rolling in at 8pm, only one waitress (Sandra) and a mess of customers and she handled it like a boss. Cooks were in their game too. Between the time I sat down and the time I got my food was about 15 minutes (considering how busy it was and the fact that I ordered a porterhouse steak not a bad time at all). If you are sliding through and looking for a good, quick, and hearty meal, this is the spot.

We had the weirdest experience at this restaurant, it was almost comical. We stopped here for gas while on our way home from a road trip. Even though there was a Cracker Barrel across the street, we figured we'd stay here for some diner fare. "Food is food, right?" We sit, no waitress. There are other people here but not many. Some are growing restless. Some even leave with just their drinks sitting on the table. We decide to wait it out, no rush to get home and it's nice to be out of the car. Finally the waitress comes out, grabs our drink order and our food order since we had plenty of time to look it over. She's frazzled and running all over the place. Obviously the only one working. The next table over has a large group of about eight. Their food was late, cold and half the orders messed up. She profusely apologizes. We feel bad for her. Our food order took an HOUR to come out. We deduced that the cook never showed up for work and that it's the waitress and manager back there frantically cooking trying to make everything look like pictures in the menu. We had a good time coming up with possibly scenarios. Our drinks were low but not totally empty. She finally comes back holding two cups of ice-less pop, asks if we would like a refill. We agree. She reaches over the table and pours the pop from those cup into ours. Okay, that was odd and probably not something they're supposed to do. I take a sip. This isn't Dr. Pepper. It's Root Beer. I started to wonder if that pop came from another table that left while waiting for their food. Food is consumed, mixed pop is gone. We're ready for our bill. And we wait. And wait. About 20 minutes later I see her running around and I wave my arms about to get her attention. She sees us and loudly asks from across the room if we're ready for our bill. YES! We get it, pay in cash because we'd probably still be there waiting for our card and leave her a fat tip because we felt this oddball day wasn't her fault and she was busting her a** taking orders, cleaning tables, cooking in the back (we still believe) and pouring old pop into new cups with great aim. Would probably go back and give it another shot. Stellar reuben sandwich.

Nice quiet 24/7 comfort food restaurant. Nice salad bar. Staff very friendly . Great for the entire family. Newly remodeled 50's 60's style.
