I've eaten here twice during my visits to Monroe, for breakfast and for dinner. The food was classic diner fare, and on each occasion was plentiful and good. Recommended, despite the one-star reduction for the tight seating.
Solid coney. Perfect service. Homemade mashed potatoes. Fried chicken hand breaded, light and flakey. "Grinder" is tons of meat cheese and veggies in a huge square of bakery quality (possibly made in house) bread that more closely resembles deep dish pizza than a sub roll; it's insane.

Ever since Sal's doors opened my family and the community have enjoyed their food. To finally have a diner close to home again has been a delight. Thank you to the crew at Sal's Place.
