Wonderful evening. Quiet evening there and the chef brought his game. The food was absolutely fantastic. Out waitress/bartender, Jess, was equally excellent. So positive and welcoming. We plan on become members and I will say that has a lot to do with them.

We stopped by tonight with friends who are members. Cannot say enough about what a wonderful dinner we had! The food was absolutely amazing. Kudos to the chef. And to Jess, our waitress and bartender! She was so welcoming and positive. She made me want to be a member there.

Played while traveling in Michigan. This is a Donald Ross course that is in great condition (other than the tees, which are a bit battered). The front nine is more interesting than the back nine - elevation changes, tough greens, etc. The back nine is much shorter and flatter than the front, but the greens remain challenging. The staff was friendly and very helpful.

This is a very old course with mature trees. It is basically a links course but it very enjoyable. The green are in excellent shape.

Having never planned an event quite as elaborate and last-minute as a farewell party for a beloved colleague in management, Monroe Golf & Country Club made the process leaps and bounds easier than I ever would've anticipated. Their staff were highly professional, responsive and sensitive to the needs of all of the guests, as well as our guest of honor. The establishment truly did a majestic job of serving up a brilliant mac and cheese bar, and a variety of vegan, vegetarian and omnivorous options for all to enjoy. The decor and ambiance were brilliant, classy and elegant. Sophisticated and accessible. Additionally, the country club, come to find out, will, should you place a dining reservation request with your dietary parameters, cater to your specific needs. I strongly recommend this fine location for anyone looking to be dazzled with exceptional service, and a refined ambiance for a reasonable price point. I'm still left wondering, "How have I not known of this place prior!?" Monroe Golf & Country Club, you assuredly, have not seen the last of my patronage!

If you are considering hosting an event here, congratulations you have excellent taste. Just book with them! Having previously worked in the private club industry, I will admit I went in very skeptical. It's hard not to do that when you've done the job before. On top of that, I'm a foodie who loves fine dining. Needless to say; I tend to have high standards for food and service. I was here for a bridal shower brunch last weekend and those standards were definitely exceeded. Everything was amazing! Please tell the kitchen and wait staff that everything they did for us was fantastic. I so appreciate their hard work and dedication to excellence. The quiche was prepared so well- that fluffiness is unprecedented, the potatoes were phenomenal (but it's not hard to get me love a carb!), and the pastries were perfectly fresh. Steps of service were perfectly executed. At MGCC, my cup runneth over- literally. Our iced tea was never empty. Well done, team!

Not sure where all the positive reviews are coming from, but most of the reviews have only single digit reviews. That would make me skeptical. First off, we were there for a large party on a cold December weekend. Nothing else was going on in the building or any of the other dining rooms. 1. Waitresses were horrible. They didn't manage their tables well at all. We went without water for quite a while until the second course came. I had to ask for coffee 4 times. All different waitresses. One time, we saw waitress literally bump into each other as they were trying to figure out who was covering who's table. Whoever was responsible for managing the staff for this event of approximately 80 to 90 people does not know how to run a kitchen. 2. Food (Chicken) was cold and we didn't have enough rolls for the number of people at the table. 3. Beef Bolognese was warm and that was decent. 4. The staff doesn't seem to take much pride in their appearance. Their uniforms looked ill-fitting and dirty with food stains/smears. One of the waitresses looked annoyed. 5. The building could use a serious update in decor. I have no idea what the golf course is like but the country club would be good for a drink as the proverbial 19th hole. Other than that, eat someplace else or plan your event someplace else. The staff simply felt and appeared overwhelmed, or poorly trained, or mismanaged. Someone is dropping the ball here.

The Groves Restaurant in the former Monroe Golf and Country Club is definitely worth a try. The food is good and relatively inexpensive. The place is immaculate and totally renovated. View of the Golf course from the dining room is spectacular. Total relaxation.
