Been coming here for years to get take out orders. Today was busy so i didnt mind the wait. But i asked to pay ahead so when its done i could just go since she just finished ringing someone else up. The waitress with white hair was rude and rushed through the transaction with an attitude. She was in such a rush to get rid of me i didnt even get a chance to add a 3 dollar tip i always give each visit. If i was to have her as a waitress id likely just leave. Horrible customer service. Having a shirt reading "allergic to mornings" while working mornings is also horrible work ethic.

Waitress didn't check on us once during the lunch. Apparently "regulars" are more important to chatter to vs treating all customers equal. We felt singled out.
Small mom and pops kinda wannabe coney island. shocked it's been in service as it claims for 25 years. caters to the older crowd but as expected since it's a rural area. hot dogs seemed boiled and then quickly cooked on a grill.
Wouldn't recommend going here if you want good service and good food. Their are plenty of foods not far from here that seem more palatable.
Parking: Building sits angled on a corner of a intersection and the parking lines are very faded. You must turn at the light if coming from gratiot and turn into the parking lot.

This was a great Coney. Prices were reasonable. Food was hot and delicious. Service was great. My four year old son said he wanted to marry the waitress. What else can you ask for?

Iv lived in New Haven my entire life and hardly ever come to the Coney Island and today I remember why…. They closed at 3, we arrived at 2:20 we planed on a quick lunch so I figured 40 minutes was more then enough time (3 tables arrived after us) alone with a very simple order a salad a cup of soup and a club sandwich, the first thing they did was bring out my bowl of soup and put it in the microwave right in front of me? Um no thank you, if the soup was cold and down for the day they could have informed me when I ordered it not tried to give me reheated food if I wanted a microwaved bowl of soup I would have ate at home? I then very politely declined the soup and just said I’d prefer not to eat the reheated soup…. The entire time from walking in to walking out the waitress and cooked talked about how they close at 3 and complained about us being there the waiter said “don’t look now” and every time I car pulled in (the 3 tables that arrived after us) I have actually never felt so unwelcome in an establishment, the food was sloppily plated and I felt like we had to scarf down are food and leave as soon as we sat down. I actually contemplated walking out after we put our order in because of how rude she was about the soup and Iv never done anything like that!

I’m only going 3 stars for the chili fries. The coneys were 1 star at best. The “hotdogs “ were at best Walmart brand , mushy not natural casings. I’ve never left in coney on my plate till now. Service was friendly and quick. The chili fries were top notch.

I’m tired of them asking for a tip I’m just carrying out. I feel that is very rude If I’m dining in, that’s understandable. And even with dining in, they should not ask
