Excellent Service and Food
Service was wonderful and food is amazing. Compliments to the 👨🍳 indeed... can't wait to try new menu items and for others to get a chance to try the brunch buffet 😋
Great location and vibe. Husband thought his Rueben was a little chewy. I had the walleye po' boy - delicious.
Service has been great here, always a good selection of beers. The food is definitely worth the trip. I regularly get the Davey Jones burger, and my fiancee likes to try things randomly from the menu. Everything we've had has been pretty decent. The baked beans are killer, the calamari is pretty good. We've come back here the most out of any place the last 3 months.
Food was fine but nothing special. Service was poor. Seldom saw the server.
Always a good experience here. Great service.
We had such a fantastic experience at Smugglers at North Shore! From the moment we walked in, everything was spotless and inviting. The atmosphere was relaxed but polished, and we instantly felt welcomed.
The food was absolutely amazing every dish we tried was full of flavor and beautifully done. Executive Chef Mike was incredibly hospitable and took the time to come over and chat with us. He even let us try a few new menu items that are launching next week, which was such a fun and unexpected treat!
Our waitress was so sweet and attentive she never missed a beat and Laura, the manager, was just as lovely. She went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed and genuinely cared about our experience.
All around, it was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a long time. You can tell this team truly loves what they do. We’ll definitely be back and we’re already telling our friends they have to check it out!
The 1st time I ate here the food was amazing. Then it has been horrible the last 3 times! Sad.
I was surprised that we couldn't order from the menu. I think that paying 40 per person is very expensive. Small salads that were more lettuce than pasta. Rolls were cold. The main course and sides were good. I did plan to spend 25 a person but not 40. I should have asked the cost per person before I ordered. So I know not to go to smugglers when they have a limited menu.
We have eaten here twice when passing through, the setting is gorgeous, drinks are very good, enjoyed the food but the service is slow so make sure you have some time.
I didn't get a picture of the pizza, but one in our party ordered it and we all enjoyed a piece, very good!
I really enjoyed the mushroom soup and the chopped salad this time. Another in our party chose the onion soup which was very good as well.
Restaurantji Recommends
The new restaurant is beautiful and the food is excellent! Love the outdoor bar and game area. Live music many nights.
Visited on a Sunday for dinner, taking my parents there. I ordered all you can eat fish. Hushpuppies were over cooked so much so I could not eat them. Fish was OK but you only get a small cup of tarter sauce so I asked for more and waited probably 15 minutes before getting more, which by that point my fish was cold. And they charged me an xtra 50 cents for the extra tarter sauce. Coleslaw was dry. I told them, so they got us new but also waited 10-15 minutes for more. Was much better. My mom's chicken was dry. Reuben my husband got was good. Carrot cake, very small piece for $10 and was just ok. Service very lacking, likely understaffed. Overall, everything is quite pricy. Will NEVER return.
By boat or by car, this place has the coolest vibe on Hess Lake. 🙂👍
Great place to pop into
As a local resident of the lake I’ve tried it over and over 10 plus times since opening day. Unfortunately I keep getting the same results. Long wait times, messed up orders and just food that’s not up to par for the price. The workers are awesome and the restaurant is beautiful but something in the kitchen needs help. I got the pork carnita nachos today and they tasted like orange chicken from a cheap China buffet but not it a good way. Overall the place has huge potential but just needs some work.
